Comparing these atomizers at 3.7 volts is NOT the same as comparing them at 5 volts.
I have 510, 801, and 901 at 5 volts in a few different mods.
Flavor: 801, hands down, then 901, then 510.
Throat Hit: 510, then 901, then 801.
You'll note that these two are in reverse order. Getting both is not easy, as you generally have to sacrifice one to get the other. Throat hit can be achieved in other ways, such as adding small amounts of pure grain alcohol or menthol to your juice.
Dependability: 801, then 901, then 510. But I have 510s that have been going for 2+ months at 5v, so I don't think this should be a concern. That's about 10 cents a day, if they broke tomorrow.
I think the 510 has the best possibility for a cartridge feeding system, very closely followed by the 901. If you want to fill up with juice only a few times a day then these two beat the 801 easily.
The 801 is very difficult to feed at 5 volts, so you have to drip at all times. Personally, I can't stand dripping, and my work commute means that I can not do it all the time. (Dripping at 85mph is silly and dangerous.) Dripping onto an 801 produces fantastic flavor (with very little throat hit, if any) but I find it to be a pain in the ..... I'd rather fill my carts occasionally, not constantly.
The 801s massive cartridge means that it's tricky to feed at 5v. Some new cart mods have been coming out, and there's a few people working religously on them, but I think they're all doing 510s or 901s. I have not yet discovered a consistent feeding system for the 801. You can use stock carts to feed for a while if you only fill about 1/3 the cart. But there are problems with sucking up liquid, in my experience (but my experience with 801s at 5v is small).
901s have noticeably more flavor at 5v than 510s, but not significantly more.
If you like to use carts go with a 510, if you drip I'd go with an 801. The 801 is great for dripping IMO.
