BETTER with fruity and food flavors (strawberry, chocolate) rather than tobacco, menthol, etc.
I don't care at all about throat hit.
Decent amount of vapor.
You sound like me.
901
I recommend using 808 batteries with the 901 since they are very compatible and the batteries themselves have a longer lasting charge compared to 901/510 batts for a similar price. Plus you can easily try 808 cartos if you like.
If I was starting out again, I'd tell me to get 1 manual and 1 auto 808 battery, a couple stock 901 atomizers, a couple low resistance 901 atomizers

, 1 510 atomizer with an 808/901 to 510 adapter, 1 801 atomizer with an 808/901 to 801 adapter, a couple of small & cheap bottles of juice that sound tasty in a range of nicotine strengths, a 5 pack of flavored cartomizers with highish nicotine strength, 1 USB charger for the 808 +an AC to USB adapter and a couple cheapo drip tips. An optional but nice addition: 1 Personal Charging Case for the 808's.
With that setup you can go for the good flavor and solid vapor of the 901/901LR and also try out the 510/801 attys plus 808 cartos, experience the difference between manual & auto batteries and have plenty of juices to both try out and tide you over before you check out some of the better juice suppliers out there. The PCC isn't totally necessary but it is very nice when you are out and about during the day and night while trying to quit cigarettes. If I skipped the PCC I'd get a case that holds 808 Batts/cartos instead.
It'd be a few bucks more up front, especially if you go with a US based reseller, but if you order from China and can wait a week or two the price wouldn't be too awful. For something like this I would order from
Health Cabin or
Heaven Gifts. Except for the Low Resistance 901's, for those I would go to
IkenVape.
IMHO throat hit (overrated) has more to do with the strength, PG/VG makeup and flavoring components of the juice you vape than the atomizer design although atty choice does play a role.
I love to use 2.0 ohm resistance IkenVape 901's

at 3.7 volts and stock (~3.4 ohm) 901's at 5 volts for what it is worth. 801's are interesting.
