Man… I didn’t think about the genesis it was a good answer too. Ok, both are winning answers
Maybe I need to think a little further on some of these.

as for the last one, us older peeps grew up watching NASA and X- jets fly off the grid.
Plus My dad was a Navy Fighter Pilot so I got to see a lot of the experiment planes fly..
The early ones all had Roman numerals and such after the names.

The other answers were fine, I just went with the NASA part of it... The crew chose the names later when the Space Program got off the ground, before that NASA did. or really pre-NASA..
