So my 2nd year passed back in June or so. I meant to write one of those "stuff I've learned on ecf" posts like I've seen other people do but never got round to it so here it is (better late than never). This isn't all "stuff I've learned" its just some rambling thoughts on where the vape nation is and what the future might hold, etc.

1. vape-solidarity- When I first started back in 2011, the vaping community seemed to me, a lot nicer. There were some arguments on ecf and other places on the net, but lately it seems its all reached fever-pitch. I think with so many threats outside the community we could do better with supporting each other instead of being so quick to knock people down. Let's try to be patient. Let's be more unified.

2. Vape innovation/modding/danger- Again when I started, we had modders and we had products etc. The CE4 wasn't even around yet, the vivi novas weren't even in existence, in fact the carto tank was just coming into play. I think someone actually even invented it here using some cut syringes. The very idea of making your own coil seemed ridiculous just 2 years ago. Now we've got people making all sorts of home-made devices. Sub ohm coils and using 30 amp batteries. I think modding and innovation is great, please just do your homework. Take precautions and if you don't know ask. And if you still don't know, ask again.

3. Newbs- If you are a newb and reading this. Welcome to ecf. Be polite and you'll receive more help than you probably want. When you get a bit of experience, give back. If you aren't a newb, I would like to encourage you to field 2-3 newb posts on the new member forum boards every time you visit. These people need our help and there's strength in numbers. Do a good deed, karma is a real thing.

4. Cloning, invention and ethics- I still don't know exactly where I stand on this but ethically you can take whatever stand you want. Economic globalization is unstoppable, the clones and the chinese imports are here to stay. Capitalism has no ethics so I don't see it as something worthy of debate. Buy what you want but don't have too harsh an opinion on other vapers who think differently than you do.

5. Vendors- Vape vendors are not wal-mart or Amazon. They can and do run out of stock frequently. You have to be a bit patient, this is the nature of the industry. As a consumer, try to be as polite as possible even when dealing with a difficult vendor or situation. Being super angry and irate rarely gets anything done fast. Find a few vendors who you can rely on. If they screw up once in a while, cut them some slack. No one is perfect.

6. The fight- Do your best to educate anyone who will listen to you on vaping. This includes local governments, businesses, schools, the fda and getting involved nationally. If you can afford to, send some money to CASAA, also become a supporting member of ecf. Go to hearings when called upon. The only one who will fight for us is us. Do your part.

Ok, preaching over. lol.
