A 3.7 volt device is a 3.7 volt device is a 3.7 volt device??

We've long said on ECF (even i've said it in the past) that a 3.7 volt device is a 3.7 volt device is a 3.7 volt device. The thought was, take any number of 3.7 volt mods and as long as you take the same exact battery and atomizer and switch them between the mods, they'll all perform the same (excluding VV mods).

Since the PrecisePlus's release, I've been reading many testimonials on the PrecisePlus that it isn't the same and that it does hit harder, longer and more consistently then devices they've previously used. I was truly skeptical, thinking what they were probably feeling was the consistency of the vape due to a more consistent power delivery and posted as such in response. But was that all there was to it?

A few weeks after the PrecisePlus was in customers hands an ECF member posted this:

Just thought I would post a quick comparison of voltage under load between the two 18350 devices I have on hand. Used the same freshly charged AW IMR 18350 battery and the same 3.3 ohm carto. The X device registered 4.2 volts without a load and 3.8 volts under load. The P+35 registered 4.2 volts without a load and 4.0 volts under load.

Well, this was good news, but I wanted to test myself and was finally able to do so and here are my results of the PrecisePlus 18650 vs another mechanical mod. Both used the exact same AW IMR 18650 and the same atomizer. Both units contacts were clean prior to testing.:

Voltages are loaded voltages running the atomizer until the voltage stabilized (approx. 6 seconds)

Atomizer.....Ohms..........PrecisePlus............Mod X

510............1.5.............3.86 Volts............3.65 Volts

801............3.2.............4.02 Volts............3.82 Volts

On both tests using two different kinds of atomizers, the PrecisePlus held significantly more voltage under load. Also, what isn't shown on the test is the PrecisePlus's voltage held more consistently and stabilized much quicker. This would explain why one feels more hit and and can run their batteries longer and lower in charge than before without experiencing a significant reduction in quality of their vape.

I believe there are two main reasons why we are seeing these results, Rhodium Plated contacts and the design of the ground system on the Precise which eliminates several junctions that electricity has to pass through on it's way back from the atomizer to the switch to the battery.

I was talking with Brandon at Evolv today about these findings and he said that will also benefit the Kick as you'll have more wattage available to your atomizer, so this is really good news for both the all mechanical camp and for those intending to run the Kick on it.

Epic Journey
I'm sure that quite a few of us were placed in the crazy camp after our initial "claims" that P+ hits harder and for longer than other 3.7V all-mechanical devices. I'm glad that you did this test David to find out if it was a placebo effect or if what we felt was factual.

It sounds like the battery life could end up being longer too when using the Kick in a P+ since it offers less resistance for the electrical flow. This ended up being true for many ProVari users when Provape came out with an upgraded spring which offered less resistance. I guess time will tell for sure but everything here sounds better and better all the time...

yeh i knew it also. But i am slightly crazy. lol when i first got the PP18500 i had the HH357 1.5ohm on it and it vaped the best on the PP than on my 4 other mods. I wont say names but they were not cheap ones. i go with mostly High End devices. The vape was very consistent and every hit i took my eyes rolled in pure delite. Now i wanted to get me a PP 18650 but when i tried to order OUT OF STOCK. But my friend emailed me and asked if i wanted his PP 18650., SOLT rfight on the spot. I have been using the PP 18650 with another HH 357 1.5 ohm atty and talk aboiut power. This is a stick of C4 explosive man but in a nice mellow .... kickin way.
I do love my two PP and now i must consider the new PP 10440. This little device is a must have andf its gonna be a real sweet mod.
Sorry for ramblin here but i am so happy i got these 2 mods. Usually when i bought a mod by the next day or 2 the excitement is kinda gone but so far so good with Davids products. I will continue to buy Super T devices til St Peter comes and brings me to the gates. I wiull be carrying a small aluminum case of vaping devices made by Super T.
Oh David btw my new PP 18650 has a slanted top and my PP 18500 has a flat top. I really love both tops but i will need a slanty top for my 18500 and a flat top for my 18650 lololol. What did you say? a PP 26650 what???? Now that mod is gonna have to have a case just for itself. lol

I told you I wasnt crazy, I am really glad you did the tests, if not for anything else, to confirm what I felt. What is mod x????!!

I changed the names of the mods to X out of respect for the mod maker and it's really not relevant what mods X couldn't do, what was relevant is what the PrecisePlus could do and did do.:)

Here's a good one: I wonder how an original Precise would stack up against a PrecisePlus?

I already tested that and with freshly sanded contacts it read within a few 1/100's of a volt, but when i tested yesterday evening (a couple of days after the original test) it was already down over 1/10 of a volt. That shows you how fast brass tarnishes...

You should have seen the buttons on the 10440 I bought...the were this awful greenish grey looked like they came from the year 1847. I spent about a half-hour today with a Cape-Cod cloth and some sandpaper and man, I don't have to send it in to you! This thing sparkles like a diamond. I have a very black rag though.
It's vaping great, and I haven't yet received the icr 10440s. Can't wait.

[Edit: The 10440 is *not* a PrecisePlus. Would not be using sandpaper on the buttons or posts if it were.]
