Good day, everyone. First post!

I got my KR-808 a couple of weeks ago and have been toying with it off and on while I continue regular smokes, as well. I really want (and need) to give up the cigarettes, but I'm not satisfied with the KR-808 automatic for a couple of reasons. I bought three of the KR-808 automatics for home, work, and auto, and I hate to toss them and buy something else, but maybe I'll have to. Hopefully, though, you guys can help me find a solution to my problems.

I cant seem to get a decent hit from the KR-808. I really like that throat hit from my cigarettes (Marlboro Light 100s), but no matter how hard I draw on the KR-808, I can't get the same satisfaction. Is it the MG strength of the carto I'm using, or is it the KR-808 itself? I initially started with a 4 MG carto and immediately decided to go up to 18. Now I'm debating on going up higher.

The next thing may be silly, but I also can't seem to get the exhale satisfaction that I'm looking for. Maybe this will be something that I just have to get used to, but there is something about exhaling the regular smoke that just gives me a little bit more satisfaction after taking that deep drag off a cigarette.

If the size of PV doesn't matter to you, you may need to go to a mod. I recommend looking at a Bolt (most vendors carry them now), Indulgence V3 (elitevaporworks.com), Maxi Roughstack (madvapes.com), or a variable voltage mod (BuzzPro by notcigs.com). You're lacking throat hit from too low a nicotine content plus poor vapor production. The exhaling thing is due to not having an ecig that can deliver what you're wanting. With any of the mods I've listed except the BuzzPro, you can run low resistance cartomizers or atty's and more than likely get satisfied. With the BP, you want to use regular ohm rated cartomizers or atty's so you can enjoy the wide range of voltages that it offers.

Yeah, you may need to look into getting a new device, something with a 510 fitting would be the most versatile, like any of the above mods, or a simple and cheap eGo/Riva. Higher nic also = more throat hit, and pg gives more than vg.

As far as the exhale I do know what you're saying, and I've found that the best way for me is to SLOWLY draw into my mouth, pop it against theback of my throat, and the slower I exhale, the better. But I don't hold it in long. If that makes sense.

Welcome to ECF Eric.

You should really switch to a larger battery that will allow you to use low resistance cartos. These will increase the throat hit of the juice and also give you a warmer vape that more closely resembles smoking. Increasing the amount of nicotine will also increase the TH. The mods hairball suggested are good, but you can also look at the KGO and Riva. While all of these come with 510 threads, you can get an adaptor to allow you to use your 808 cartos on a 510 battery. Also keep in mind that VG attenuates the TH from nicotine so avoid liquids high in VG.

What do you mean by "exhale satisfaction"? Is it seeing a dense cloud of "smoke"? VG will increase the amount of vapor, and adding 20-30% to PG juice will increase the amount of vapor while still giving you a good TH.

Good Luck...

Hi all...I posted something yesterday, but I can't find it. More than likely I did something wrong...anyway...I'm smoke free for 4 weeks and 3 days now!!!! I'm using an e cig I found at a QT gas station. It's ok, but after much searching, I think I've found something better and ordered it. It should be here today. I've smoked for 48 years and for me to quit is something I never thought would happen. As long as I have an e cig, I think I can do it, but I feel like I've just traded one addiction for another....anyone feel that way too?

As many of the other good suggestions, I agree you need to ditch your mini, auto battery model if you want a better "inhaled feel", more like the real thing, when you vape. Three good beginner models, and definitely better than the over-hyped eGo, are the E-Power 510, Kgo 510 and the Riva 510. And if you really want a better hit and warmer vapor, then look at a good 5 volt or variable volt model. Here are some well supported suppliers:

KGO kit 1100mAh by SLB

e-Power

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - EGO E-Power

GLV-2 Electronic Cigarette [GLV-2] - $120.00 : Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor

..., but I feel like I've just traded one addiction for another....anyone feel that way too?

And?

If you traded an addiction of biting your nails to one of polishing mirrors you'd still have nicer looking hands.

If you traded an addiction of chewing raw garlic to one of chewing wintergreen gum you'd still have nicer breath.

If you traded an addition of inhaling burning organic matter to one of inhaling the steam from a boiling pan you'd still have pinker lungs.

If you traded an addiction of drinking vodka by the quart to one of drinking water by the quart you'd still be healthier.

Wow, thanks for all of the replies. I appreciate the feedback.

Thanks for the links, Hairball.

Dragon, I hear what you're saying and that's the complete opposite of what I've been doing, so I'll try and slow it down. I've been used to killing 100's in a few short minutes, so that might take some work.

Stef, it's both the cloud of "smoke" and also the "burn" that I'm missing when I exhale.

Thanks again for the feedback!

Yeah, it's kinda odd at first, but then makes sense once you "get it." Watching vaping youtubes might also help you, people definitely vape different then they smoke.

Well that's so funny - I [osted a reply to you yesterday - but I was so long composing it - I got logged out and lost it! About addiction. I had no intention of giving up smoking - I'm already in my late sixties and really healthy so I thought I might as well just continue - I have two friends nearing ninety who still smoke and are well, so I was happy to take my chances. I just bought a small device to use when I went somewhere I knew I couldn't smoke. And gradually, by ACCIDENT, I found I preferred vaping to smoking for all sorts of subtle reasons. I still want the nicotine because it heps fend off some illnesses I don't want, and as I never meant to give up smoking, I call myself a "smoker who vapes instead".

Or a non-smoking Vaper!

I am addicted to all sorts of things. My chair. My computer. The height of my driving mirror. My pillow. Loose calf socks. I can go on and on. If I get any of that messed with, I'm so deprived, I get mad!

Some people HAVE to run or excercise. My husband HAS to take his meds.

We're all addicted to knowing the "news" or reading the paper or watching TV, or feeling good about ourselves. Our addictions define us!

Some addictions are good for us, some are bad - and some just make us a pain in the ..... But all of them make us human.

Chill!

KR808D-1 is the strongest slim ecig at 3.7v for V4L.com and normal manufacturer, the rubberized ones are 3.6v regulated

The lowest ohms carto you should use on a slim ecig are super-easy to find for KR808D-1 - the V4L WOW cartos (around 2.5ohm) and the nice bottom coil 2.6ohm Bloogplanet/SmokelesImage cartos

I also use high PG juices to let through the nicotine TH and flavor the best, with some VG for vapor and to buffer irritation. I mainly use V4L WOW juices (BTW they do have nic above 18mg), and a few other juices that are around 80PG/20VG. The Bloogplanet/SmokelessImage juices are 80PG/20VG

I only use manual batteries to get the best drag/hit - you can press the button in 1-2 seconds before starting your drag so you don't waste your breath sucking air - instead nice vapor will be ready when you start dragging. And to get the best drags I use the V4L single logo manual w/ 10+ second cutoff. (most KR808D-1 models have a 5 second cutoffs)

To get any stronger than that you have to skip slim ecigs and go to 450mah+ fat battery models and mods so you can use LR cartomizers/atomizers like 2 ohms, 1.7 ohms. Or use VV or higher voltage 450mah+ devices w/ standard resistance cartos to similarly create heat. (single coil for heat, heat enhances hit)

when carta starts to get dry try refilling it with an e-juice made with vg or at least 30% vg., plenty of sites to tell you how if you haven't tryed this also sites that tell you how to clean out carto for reuse, a great money saver. after 37 years of smoking up to three packs a day i am 81 days without analog and have not had the urge to go back.
