Alright, I've been around these forums for awhile now, researching and taking part in many of the conversations. I have tried the 510 in the past from a friend, and while I found the throat hit a little much, it was still smooth for the most part. I ordered a 901 on the first which I finally got yesterday. Stupid Chinese holiday.

Anyhow, I tried to blow out the atomizer as I was told in order to get the primer off, and nothing seemed to have come off. After a couple of tries I simply said screw it and started using it once the battery was charged. I started first with a 24mg RY4 cartomizer with the 901 to cart adapter, and holy crap, I coughed like the first time I had ever smoked.

Being a cartomizer I wasn't really worried about a primer taste, and well, the taste was fine, but holy crap it was harsh. Tried it a couple more times, and eventually settled on taking small inhales, just enough so I didn't kill my throat, which meant little vapor. I then switched off to the 901 atty with a cart that I did the straw mod with and filled with 18mg vanilla. It was still harsh.

I had figured lowering the amount of nic would calm the harshness. It didn't. What am I doing wrong? Like I said, I found the 510 harsh as well, but after reading the boards I figured that's what it was supposed to be like. Now with the 901 I think I'm just doing something wrong.

Don't smoke it like a cigarette..

When you smoke a cigar, or mini-cigar you don't inhale 100% of the draw like you do with a cig. They are to harsh.

I like my 801 running strong of 36mg. If I took a draw for 8 seconds, then inhaled it all, it would kill me. So what I do is draw, then let it float in my mouth, puff some out and inhale the rest, of just inhale a small amount and let the rest float out of your mouth.

You could setup yours to be weaker, less e-juice, less draw, lower nic, or do what I described above that lets you pick the strength of the hit you want.

Hope that helps.
