I didn't read this whole thread but if consumers expect vendors to right mistakes made, such as sending the wrong product or defective products in a timely manner and more so, sending the item prior to getting the wrong or broken item back, the same has to be expected from the buyers.

Oh duh, this is just what unclestu said except in fewer words.....

Whole just of the Ops post just reads as a Holier than thou setup.
If I were a true believer in what goes around comes around, I'd be in seventh heaven.
In reality though I have given until I have nothing left.
If someone sends me something I should not get, they will have to send me a postage paid container to get it back. I have no problem returning, but not at my expense.

I would send an item back or to the rightful owner. It's the right thing to do and I'm not a fan of bad juju anyway.

Little story:

My wife and I wheeled our cart out of Target to our car. As we were loading our bags, we noticed we'd forgotten the giant case of water on the bottom rack of the cart. The water was never scanned and paid for.

I ripped off the SKU# and went back in to pay for it. The cashiers looked at me like I was from another planet. Like I was crazy for paying for it after I had "successfully" made it out of the store

I was working at a retail store in downtown Austin. Sketchy people but enough about my coworkers. Two people had to take the deposit to the bank on the other corner. It was a busy store and we always got loads of cash.

I was putting it in the safe and thought, uh-oh. The teller had wrapped 50 twenties in a 50 $1 wrapper. I walked back to the bank and kind of stood there then put the money on her counter. She looked for a minute then she turned white as a sheet. I just smiled and walked away. She would have lost her job. But she didn't.
