Let's keep a positive attitude here. Thankfully there's not too many idiots that show up and take advantage of the good folks here. It was a nice wake up call though, considering the timing around the holiday season and all. I liken him to a computer virus! They're always around but usually show up most around the holiday season too.

This may hurt those most in need, but I think we need to be more vigilant with our "giving" nature and limit it to the regulars or atleast the established members of our community. I think that coupled with the constant vigilance of our benevolent Admins, should keep episodes such as this one to a bare minimum if not eradicating it completely.

I have no problems helping folks in need, not neewbies I am sorry. At the time he came knocking on my door he had 11 post, he blew so much sunshine up my .... I thought I was a hot air balloon. The thing I got POed about was the daughter, that was totally...

Ah yes, the daughter. I believe I must have gotten the same story from him when he PM'd me about a PIF helping hand. Wish I could say it was the first time I'd heard a similar story from a similar type of newbie, but I can't. It's jerks like this that jade people and make them stop helping others who may truly need it. Shame on him and all like him.

I am soooo mad right now .. but at myself! I swear I could tell this kid was up to no good, but everyone was so uber supportive, so I thought maybe I was wrong.

Now I wish I would have found a clever, yet non aggressive to say what my intuition made me feel clearly. Something to raise the eyebrows of his unassuming ex supporters :(

At the end of the day I am just glad that he was found out and could not go any further with this. The other lesson for me is speak up when I feel something so strongly, even if it means a little back lash from those who believed him at first.

Ya i was getting a little suspicious after i agreed to send him a kit and he keep accepting more, think it was like this for everyone, it was around the holidays and i think everyone thinking was lets help this guy out since he is in need >.> .

In the end I'm a firm believer that he will get whatever karma has in store for him for taking advantage of ppl goodwill.

My final words on this particular episode are simply that those who so quickly and selflessly jumped in to help will be rewarded in some way at some time. It is obvious that their caring nature is not just reflected in this forum but in their daily lives. For those who had some spidey senses tingling but were too reluctant to say anything openly, don't beat yourself up over that. We all doubt our instincts at times and especially when we have nothing substantial to go on. In the long run, I think it has made many of us perhaps a little sadder and certainly a little wiser and more perceptive.

Oh yeah ... makes me feel better about finding out that those two juice bottles I thought I had on hand were, in fact, thrown into the garbage not long after I stated that they tasted like crap to me and should be thrown in the garbage! :)

This is still a great forum filled with great people and special thanks, again, to our moderators for taking such good care of us.

Jeez, I've been kinda busy and didn't even realize this until just earlier this evening, but ... fuuudddggeee. ("...only I didn't say 'fudge'...) All I can say is that I'm glad I was waiting until this weekend when I had the time to properly put a kit together and make up some juice. I would have been pretty POed if I'd jumped on it and sent the package off before all of this went down.

But I'm glad he was found out and booted. He'll get his at some point. They always do. I only regret that it will probably make me cast a slightly more suspicious eye on any future tales of woe in that vein from new users. But I guess this sort of thing is inevitable as more people get into vaping and it gains a higher profile, the scammers will crawl out of the slime.

*sigh*

In the 2 years I have been here, it is the first incident in the Canadian Forum, however I have seen many here on ECF, especially in the PIF section. Some yahoos were actually accepting PIFs and selling them in the classies.

If you want a username change all you have to do is request one: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/forum-how-tos/32395-changing-username.html

As for the other question a lot of it is just from reading posts and receiving reports, we don't catch everything but we try the best we can. I really do love the caring spirit of the community and utterly despise it when someone takes advantage of folks.

I took advantage of this option since I have noticed there is another user named Dyanna too close to my name for my liking lol I am changing mine.

Indeed. And this type of behavior is what prompted the thread locking/deleteing/rule changes in the PIF group. I've seen a lot of shady-ness in my two years at PIF (even when it was a single thread in the classies, and not an entire social group). Still, the good out weighs the bad by a long shot. :) ECF'ers have the BEST hearts. (((ECF)))

That is f-ing disgusting ... and possibly illegal ... i dont know the judicial system enough to know, but enabling STD infection just seems illegal to me.

I strongly suggest you remove this post for all our sakes.
