A chest cold makes vaping impossible.

I LOVE INHALING, i'm such a bad boy lol. Just isn't as satisfying to me with out that lung hit. I don't think either way is wrong, it's more like whatever satisfies you, i guess.

I already am down to around 6mg, was never a super heavy smoker, I also chain vape, likely an oral fixation, so my nic uptake is more like a slow trickle throughout the day. only get buzzed when i use my old 18mg juice that i got when i first started and is too delicious to throw away.

no one here is saying 'you're wrong, don't inhale'. what some ARE saying is that it's not necessary to do so if you choose not to inhale, and you'll still get your dose of nic. and according to rolygate, others, and my anecdotal experience, it doesn't seem to be necessary.

Actually not quite true.

Sounds like you are taking the vape into your lungs... that is not the "correct" procedure.
Most of the flavor and nicotine will absorb in the mucus membranes of your mouth and nose.
There is directions on the proper way to vape somewhere ... if you feel up to looking for it (reasons and stuff included)

Basically, quick hit to warm up the vape - the long slow hit - hold the vape in your mouth - roll it around like a cigar or wine -
exhale through your nose.

No reason at all for that vape to be hitting your lungs.

Menthol might be soothing to your throat with a chest cold and all.

Good Luck

You are quite right, to each his own. I just don't want misinformation being passed off as gospel truth. :) Clearly people are reading this as "don't inhale!" because a lot of people are getting their feathers ruffled and defending the practice. No reason for them to. Nothing wrong with inhaling your vape. That's all! :2c:

Anywho, back on topic. Signal30, hope you feel better soon, darlin.

you're correct, unfettered. i glossed over that post.

i for one was not saying 'don't inhale'. i do it sometimes out of habit. i know others who inhale, and others who don't (and i'm not talking about pres clinton...lol). whatever and however it keeps you off the stinkies is good by me.

anyway, who am i to argue with a twi'lek? aayla secura was my favorite jedi... :)

 You have no idea how happy you just made me....recognizing that my alter ego :)tongue:) is a Jedi and not a slave girl. ;)

I dig me some Aayla as well! *high five* Although, I often get mistaken for her when I go to Cons in costume. :glare:

And I totally understood where you were coming from. It was just the post I quoted that seemed to trip people up and make them question or defend supposed "proper vaping".

It's weird to me that people directly inhale cigs. Even weirder that someone would do that with vape. (As opposed to taking a mouth hit and then inhaling.) I experimented a little after I read that stickied post and I can tell you that direct inhalation would never be for me. I coughed for half an hour after having only done it once. (I do not advise anyone to try this at home. hehe!)

Anyway, it is really great to know that inhalation ISN'T necessary to enjoy the benefits of vaping, particularly for people like our poor sicky OP and people with chronic lung issues.

Glad it is working for you! I've been playing around with not inhaling since I read all this as well, and the taste comes through so much better when you don't inhale the vapor. (Which stands to reasons, since it isn't dissipating in your lungs!)

(As an aside....it cracks me up how often Clinton's name appears on this forum. Some things you just never live down.)

twi'leks are certainly a colorful species! i could tell you were a jedi by the saber hilt hanging from your hip. is that a vape stick, as well? ;)

aayla was a blue twi'lek, and you're obviously not blue in your avatar pic (unless i'm going colorblind lol), so i knew you weren't her, but still could tell you were portraying a jedi... so sad to see aayla go down in ROTS. interesting how the girl who played her, amy allen i think is her name, was a PA on the set (or a lucasfilm employee of some sort, i don't recall) and GL decided he needed a scene with a twi'lek jedi, and she fit the bill...

as a 13yo boy when ROTJ came out, i was fascinated by the dancing twi'lek slave girl in jabba's palace. and even moreso fascinated by her when it came out on VHS and i could pause the tape - perhaps the only unintentional nudity in a SW film? lol

well of course bill clinton comes up on these forums often - two of his bigger 'scandals' involved smoking, either him not inhaling an illegal substance, or him and his cigar... lol

i never could direct lung inhale cigs either. just too much for my poor lungs, and bad lungs run in my family. my brother and i both have a very distinctive cough (as did my dad) brought on by smoking, and lung cancer abounds on my mother's side. my cough has all but disappeared since quitting the smokes, thankfully. but if i try to inhale some stronger vape flavors, the cough will get me...

i do really prefer just a very slight inhale of the vape, just til it tickles the back of my throat. and that strange hit of flavor way back in my throat right before nose exhale (almost feels like it's at the very top near where my nasal passage meets my throat i guess back behind my uvula) is really nice. its like a taste and smell all rolled into one.

i have moved past needing to have the vape in my lungs, but i also vaped for a year, several years ago, using an old 510 cigalike, and during that whole time i inhaled. but with the newer delivery devices, i get so much more vapor per pull, i really don't feel the need to pull the vape into my lungs any more. but to those who do it - more power to you! just keep vaping and stay off the stinkies, no matter how you do it!

OP sending good vibes your way, I've had 2 or 3 ripping sinus infections over the last couple of years since I've been vaping and it's the absolute worst! So sorry for ya.
The only thing that got me through them was a peppermint vape. I essentially sucked on it like a candy cane for 2 weeks.
Good luck and chicken soup! (Real chicken soup really works, it's SCIENCE, have someone make u some) :)

Right there with ya, Signal30. Except mine started in my lungs about 2 days ago and is just sitting there. I'm finding it's definitely easier on my lungs if I use my 6 mg juice but if I try to use that all day it doesn't take care of the nic craving enough. However, I just remembered that I have some Kringle's Curse sitting unopened among my juices that's a 12mg. Maybe that will soothe things? I'll have to give it a try.
Anyway, get yourself to the doc and on the way to feeling better!

Update. I went to the doctor and he advised me to go to the ER. He stated that there was severe inflammation and infection and I was lucky to go to the doctor when I did. So I went to the ER and the doctors ran some tests. It turns out I have a severe allergic reaction to PG and the condition is known as Cryptolisis. I have to now spend a few days in the hospital. I knew there was something seriously wrong when I was experiencing severe chest pains, bloody clem, and a fever of 104 degrees. another symptom was that I felt unusual tingling in my leg. It felt like someone was pulling on my leg.....

Like I'm pulling yours...lol. It's just bronchitis, a Z-pack and it should clear up in a few days.

:glare: I'm seriously thinking about hunting you down and beating the crap out of you :glare:

On the other hand, I figured it was bronchitis. Lord knows I've had it enough times to know the symptoms. Gals you finally went to the doc. :)

I am a new vaper, Saturday will mark one month since my last analog.
I am high on life, enjoying this vaping thing with all my senses; heart and soul!!
So happy to be here sharing with you lovely people.

I caught the yucky bug my 19 yr old and 9 yr old have been suffering from. The little one is sleeping peacefully, and I am enjoying my evening, watching a great thriller, sipping hot chocolate and vaping some Kringle's Curse (Halo).
So soothing!
I might be sick, but wow, I feel serene and content. This lovely cooling mint vape is making Mama feel so much better.

Wishing you all a great night (((hugs))) from Nova Scotia, Canada
