I could see it being an issue with threading the wick. You’ve got to make a point to thread it through, and if your fingers had any gunk on them you’d have to cut the point off anyway. Not sure how this is an advantage.
No. Cotton is cellulose though and rayon is made from wood. The lignin would get in the way though. Also the whole point is to NOT contain the liquid, but transfer it TO the coil. Tubules are like drinking straws. They contain sort of by definition.
