I've been using Vaporesso mods since the Revenger was released. I bought the Revenger, the Revenger X, the Switcher for myself, the Armour Pro for my wife and now the Polar for myself. I've really liked these devices, both mods and tanks and my wife says the Armour Pro is her favorite vape ever.

Coils are only lasting about a day and a half for me with the Polar though...

About the time I bought the Polar I tried a new juice for the first time in ages and opened the airflow on the tank. The juice is 120 cream pop and yeah, it's VERY sweet so that may be a factor. For years I've kept my airflow almost shut because I've always preferred a tighter pull, I had no idea how much that kills flavor though. The first time I vaped with the airflow wide open I was truly shocked.

After burning through 12 coils I realized I was going to have to abandon my new favorite juice of all time and go back to my old stuff... same problem. A day and a half +/- and everything tastes like over toasted garbage.

I'm using the same GT-4 coils I've used with my vaporesso tanks all along, I even tried some smok coils just to be certain and both brands burn out in about the same amount of time. The circuit board in the Polar is the same board that's in the Armour Pro and my wife is on the same coil that was in the tank when she opened the box almost a month ago. I'm used to getting 2-3 weeks from a coil.

I know this is a seriously disjointed post but does anyone have any insight? I have googled from one end of the net to the other and while I have noticed some comments about Vaporesso GT coils burning out fast for some people I've never had a problem and the smok coils I've bought have done the same thing. I'm going bonkers over this.

I’m getting decent mileage out of the GTs. I use mostly high vg very sweet juice. Currently running a .20 ohm at 35W, air wide open. I think the Ccells seem to last a bit longer, but I get at least two weeks out of the standard ones.

I’m just gonna assume you’re priming adequately and not chain vaping. All I can think of is you wattage May be high.

Juice, chain vaping and not enough airflow (other than wattage which yeah, you don't want to overdo it) tend to be my main culprits. So, start changing stuff up I guess, although there is certainly no reason to NOT try some different coils and see if you have a better experience with them and etc.

Best of luck,

Anna

How are you using the Polar? That mod produces some high power and I find that the settings that I normally would use on another mod way too high. Just vaping normal in the Polar is way too strong for me. Setting it to soft is more like the regular volts in other mods. That has been my experience anyway. I too burned up a couple of coils until I set it to soft. YMMV

:)

That gets compounded by choking the airflow on an atty designed for more open draw. While it seems reasonable to assume an atomizer would work well with all possible airflow options it has that's not true.
If you like a tight draw get an atomizer designed for it, that'll give you the best flavor that's possible with that kind of airflow.

And like others already said, for coil killer juices you need a rebuildable, best would be a single coil RDA where dry burn and cotton swap take a minute.

Widely known (now) misbehavior of this mod.

And so you should with pre made coils (agree with Sonic above a winner). You settings and style of vape will sometimes determine how often "coils" wicks will require changing. With my RDA's I change them almost always after each session depending on the type of juice. It takes me less than a minute to pull the old wick and burn off the coil then replace with a rayon wick. When and if you get tired of the expense and effort replacing prebuilt coils you will want to consider an RTA/RDA. If you can bend paper clips and thread a needle, you can build your own coils and wick them. It's that simple. All you need is wire and a round rod (small screw drivers work) with approximately 1/8 inch od rod plus a wire cutter..
Re: Wrapping Building Coils 101 For Beginners
Wire coils rarely burn out with my style of vaping. It's all about changing the wick for the best flavor.

There is no "one-size-fits-all" vape.

Our vaping styles most often change and diversify with time and exposure to the wonderful alternatives available. The volume of our vape expands accordingly. That's demanding of any design.

Take control of your own vape. That's the only answer.

No better hidden secret on this forum…

A fabulous vape in 30 seconds and no better method for an honest baseline. Vape memory is all too easily persuaded by shiny and me gots too.

Tensioned Micro Coils. The next step.
Protank MicroCoil Discussion!

Then there's always chuckin' horseshoes. ;)

Good luck. :)

Wish I could help you. I also have an array of Vaporesso mods including ones you mentioned and tanks. I exclusively use the GT (esp GT 4 and cCell ceramic)coils because of the flavor and longevity. Im not crazy about the GT 8s. The temp/watts really need to be cranked up (>70watts) to get good flavor imo. And they DONT last long.

As others have mentioned there are a lot of variables involved with different vaping styles. But I’m close to a chain vaper of thick sweet DIY juice and I still get at least a week from one coil.

I tested the new GT mesh and vaped it for over 100mgs of high VG custard juice and only then the flavor started to fade for me.

Have you tried ALL of the GT coils line? There’s a huge selection to choose from for just about every DL vaping style.

Good luck.

It is probably the Polar, reviewers said it gives a real high surge of power when you first fire it. Try the tank on one of your older mods and see what happens. The Polar is prob burning your coils with too much power. The funny thing is the armour mod supposedly does the same high hits, it has the same board in it.

The Polar and the Armour Pro both have the new Omni 4.0 chipset.
The Omni 4.0 has a known issue of firing at FULL power for a brief moment when used in 'hard' or 'normal' VW mode. The only known work around is to use 'soft' VW mode or a custom curve.

There is no work around in TC mode as of yet.
It is a byproduct of their ".002s firing time" feature.
Turning off their "auto" and "smart on" features help as well. Those features will choose preheat firing wattages it thinks you might like based on the resistance of your coil.

I'm hoping for a better firmware upgrade to help with the issue
