A definative answer? 18650 flat top

Ok, so after reading around alot about batteries, I am about to order some for my impending Vamo delivery

I have read varying posts about wether or not the flat top 18650s rattle, so would like to get it from the horses mouth, of someone who owns a recently delivered one if I need to be getting flat tops or button tops.

The reason for this is it seems many places are out of stock of the button tops at present (as well as a lot of other things due to the chinese new year) and I would like to see if I should wait and get some button tops (and potentially not have them when it arrives) or just get some flat tops? Going to get some 18350s as well, but they appear out of stock almost everywhere!

I have both flats and buttons and both work fine with the new gold (copper) spring. The Panny button tops are a snugger fit than the AW IMR but neither rattle at all. Same holds true for both brands of the flat tops. You're really going to like your Vamo!

Both the Efest flat top 18650's and the Panasonic CGR18650CH button tops work perfectly in both my chrome and stainless VAMOs. They don't rattle at all using either the upgraded VAMO spring nor the Helix/Omega/Silver Bullet hot springs. The Efests are 2000 mAH while the Panasonics are 2250 mAH and are just a smidge fatter.

My V1 VAMO would only take button top 18650s. It used flat top 18350s just fine for mini mode. When I got my V2 with the gold spring, I can now use the flat top 18650s I used to use in my gripper. So I'm happy again. But yeah, any 18650 should fit. What type you get is up to you.

ive got 8 of those panasonic 18650s. they were only 6 dollars each on amazon not too long ago. flat tops, no rattling, no problems. ive got a few efest 18650s ordered. i prefer the 18650s to the 18350s because of the longer battery life. although i do like the size of the mini mode.
