Try this Nitemist....raise the post.
>yup - need to do that almost regularly... seems "I dun know me own strenth" at times...

Cartomizers like batteries screwed onto Rechargers shouldn't be cranked all the way on. If your cartos are cranked all the way down it tends to block the air intake holes, by raising the post the Carto sits higher on the pv, exposing the air intake holes. There should always be a hairline gap between the base of the Carto and the base of the Battery Connector. As well, take a needle and just double check to see if any of the air intake holes are blocked.
>I found also that a quick swipe with isopropyl (thank gawds for spell check!) alcohol (hmm... no problems spelling THAT word!) helps clear the holes of gunk too - just gotta be careful not to short out the batt
Hope that helps....

Ya gotta love the peeps here :)

Question asked...question answered...and nobody says, "well, aren't you the dummy of the day!" :)
>Yes, unlike SOME boards I (used to) belong to!

Glad to know I had company in the "pv toss" because old habits are hard to break :) I still put my pv in an ashtray...or try to grind it out...or (this was early on) tried to light it but I caught myself just in time before I melted it :p
>LOLOL

I was definitely in line for "dummy of the day" but didn't we all do strange things when first learning to vape, hmmm?
>YUP, just like I keep thinking of the orginal Addams Family TV show, when Gomez would pull a LIT cigar from the inside pocket of his jacket - THEN put it back! took me YEARS to figure THAT one out... now - I do it too! :)

My hubby did light his PV on fire his first week vaping. Melted the ash cap, but didn't do any damage to the battery itself, or the LED. It's now a semi-stealth battery, because you can only see the LED through the small portions of the ash cap that didn't turn black and melt...

NICE! my wife was surprised the other day - I pulled a bic lighter out of hiding to burn off a thread hanging from my coat...
she asked why we STILL have one... (she quit a couple of years ago) and I reminded her that we have an ELECTRIC STOVE...
"Yeah, what has THAT got to do with it?" - hard to light candles with an electric stove! hehehehe

Nite..I noticed, now what? :)
My worst was vaping after refilling. I forgot to pot a carto back on and vaped the batt! That's like tasting a penny or putting your tongue on a d-cell batt to see if it's fresh! Just stupid!

ok, now that I can breathe again! :)
WAY too funny MK!
reminds me... years ago - we dared a (now former) friend to touch a 9v batt to his tongue... the post got hooked on his tongue (prolly a taste bud) and he was scared to pull it off - I was waiting to see the sparks come out of his nose! hehehe

Perez-uzza to this day
Hi again folks! just wondering if anyone else had this happen - got a cart that I was vaping on, was going ok, but I noticed that the more I vaped it, the harder the pull became... after a bit, it was like trying to suck a chunk of milkshake ice through a straw... took the cart off the PT and looked into it - can still see daylight through the air tube, but it's really tough to hit on... any ideas, or is this cart toast?

one other one also - what are the 'drip tips' actually FOR? I've looked around, and not seen too much info on them...

TIA!

I haven't read all of the other posts so maybe this has been said already, bet se la vie.

This isn't that uncommon, especially if you are using higher voltage on the PT. If the draw is tightening it will almost always burn soon. I count it as a dead or bad carto. If its a new carto, salvage the juice (if the 1ml in there is worth it to you), if it's an old one just toss it.

IMO we have to get it out of our heads that every carto will work. You just enjoy yourself more IMO if you are willing to just toss the under-performers in order to get the good experience and not spend energy on the struggles.

If anybody comes up with a carto where all of them work great every order...well, they will sell a lot of cartos.

Nother new question for you guys...
was going to refill my nuports yesterday, and in 2 of them, the poly-fill was a dark brown color (almost hershey bar color)...

is this burnt, or just (ahem) aged?
what causes this, and are they still safe to refill?

TIA!

Put them in a pan of almost boiling water and soak 'em. When the water get cool dump it out and then re-rinse im more near boiling water. I did this today with 17 cartos. They took about 4 washings to get all the junk out of them, but now they are all nice and clean looking. I'm waiting for them to dry out so I can refill them with fresh juice. :)

TYVM Richard! this is cool - I can save those carts! (I'm needing to be a bit of a tight-wad for a bit, got a new project coming towards me, and will need as much cash as I can hold on to!)
so, what caused that? just normal use? this is the first time I've seen carts do that...
