A few questions

Are there devices I should stay away from? Like tanks I should buy? I'm still new to this and I'm not sure what to get. If I were to start rebuilding, what should I get to use on an mvp2?

Lets say I wanted to build something like, 1 ohm build. Would it work on the mvp2? I like my aspire mini, but the cost of buying coils is rather annoying, and just reminds me of buying a pack of analogs, which doesn't help me much. My point is, I like the performance and want something that works like it, but doesn't need new coils every couple days. I vape at highest wattage which doesn't help the life of my coils. I mean, that I don't nee to buy new coils every few days.

Lots of choices for rebuilding but probably the most popular is the Kayfun Lite. It is easy to build on for a beginner and produces very good flavor and vapor.

Before you start rebuilding make sure you pick up an Ohms meter and read up on Ohms law...safety first.

I'm an electrician, I'm quite familiar with ohms law. Question though, The mvp reads off the resistance, could I use that instead of an ohm reader? (Sorry if it's a stupid question)

Hi, In my opinion you might want a device with more power or wattage then the mvp2 if your going to be rebuilding. When I first started rebuilding this is why I retired my mvp2. 11 watts will not give your rebuildable optimum results. Some rbas will need more power than that to perform as they should. They are making many good regulated higher wattage devices now. You can now go 30, 50, 100 or even 150 watts on the newer regulated devices. Which device is a matter of opinion. You can ask and get 100 different answers. So I'll just give my opinion. For 30 watts I think coloupor dna 30 is a good unit. I Have one and it worked well. For 50 watts I recommend the ipv2 50 I have one and absolutely love it. Never had a single problem with it. For higher wattage I recommend the ipv3 150. I have mine on order now. When starting out building the kayfun lite is a excellent starting place. The build is straight foward and not complex. It's the perfect choice to learn on. Sure, I have used the readout on my Provari to check resistance....but I am paranoid I guess, so I usually throw it on my meter first before it goes anywhere near my devices, that way I dont forget to measure it.

Yes, you can, and it's not a stupid question. I don't use mine for rebuilding, but I do know that the accuracy is fairly good. Keep in mind that it only reads to a tenth of an ohm, so I wouldn't go for any crazy low builds until you get something that has better resolution, at least to the hundredth of an ohm.

Only 1.3 ohms is the lowest resistance that most regulated mods (MVP2, Provari, Vamo, VTR, etc) will fire. Amp limits and protection circuitry kick in if you use anything lower.

A Kayfun-style tank will actually perform at optimum between 1.3 and 2.0 ohm. Lower resistance could melt the insulators.

Authentic Kayfun will run around 100 but good quality clones by Tobecco or EHpro for much less

I use 0.8 ohm coils in V2's & Maga's on my MVP's all day every day. No issues. Also use them on my Kamry Bacchus, 1600 mah Vision 2's & 1300 mah Ego-t's with out any problems

Here a great Kayfun clone fo $28. I have one on my MVP right now. I usually build them at about 1.5 ohms.

Like Baditude said, usually around 1.3-ish is where most of the 15 watt and under APV category limit your lower ohms, sometimes a little lower, but not by much. I've read about a few devices going as low as 0.7 - but I wouldn't go outside the limits published by the manufacturer, because if you're actually pushing more current than what it's supposed to be able to provide, there's a good chance that the extra heat generated by that current may damage the electronics.

The MVP, while a fine mod for regular tanks, isn't really designed for RBAs. TheMVP (and most other regulated VV/VW mods) is designed to operate coils with resistances from 1.6 to 3.0 ohms. If you love the MVP2 and don't want to change mods, I'd recommend the Kanger Aero Mega tank.

Could you put an RBA on it with 2.0 ohm coils and see it work? Yes. Are you getting the most out of your RBA when you do that? No.

If you want a box mod with all of the variable voltage/wattage options that you are used to (with mods like the MVP2), yet you want to do an RBA as a tank or as a dripper, I'd recommend the IPV2 or IPV3.
