A friend needs your help

I have a friend who wants to quit smoking so bad. She first tried my ce4 stardust when I was using that before mini vivi nova, she coughs with everything I give her. She only smokes 8 cigs/day so I thought she should try 6mg. she still coughs with ry4 on a mini vivi nova.
I tried 80percent vg with the mini vivi nova and she still coughs. what gives? What can she do? I told her to not smoke it like a cig. She takes it in her mouth for a couple of seconds then into the lungs. she also puffs it like a cigar and still coughs. Should she try a different ecig? If so, which one do you recommend for a newbie who coughs with everything. She tried the store bought cheapy ones and didn't like the taste.

When I got my first kit I still had 10 smokes left, I would vape in between cigs and coughed everytime. Once the cigs ran out the coughing went away after just a short time vaping without cigs. If you have something you can lend her to vape for a little while so she can vape without smoking, there's a pretty good chance the coughing will stop and she can become a full time vaper. I also think her method of taking vapor into the mouth before inhaling is the better method,jmo. I would also suggest not starting her on high% VG juices, they have a tendency to make me cough also. Just my opinions from my experiences, others may be different.

When I first started vaping my throat could tell the difference between vapor and smoke. I could not inhale the vaper directly without my throat closing up like I was trying to inhale water..... I used the PV more like a cigar, creating vapor but not directly inhaling it.... did that make sense?

Try just having her use zero nic with a higher ohm carto or atty, (i assume your using an ego or similar?) try at least a 2-2.5 ohm atty, carto or clearo. Lower ohm tend to have a higher heat and harshness (ie throat hit)

yes ego battery is all I have. can you tell me exactly which type of carto or clearo has it?

A 2.5 ohm single coil carto like this... Smok Tech 2.5 Ohm 510 Mega Cartomizer, Single Coil with a low nic juice. I would have her try some non-tobbaco juices as well, try her favorite candy or beverage flavor instead.

sorry for being such a newb, but can we use the 2.5 single coil on a regular ego c type battery and just buy a drip tip? I have tons of ego c batteries but that's all I have.

I'm sorry, but I would never recommend a mega carto to someone new.. You also can't use a standard 510 drip tip on a mega carto because of the mega-ness.

It's something you just have to get used to. When I FIRST started vaping, I remember the "inhaling water" feeling, you really just have to keep at it and eventually it won't be so difficult. The more you vape, the easier it gets, just don't let her be turned off by it. Smoking also makes it worse from what I remember. Every RY4 I've tried has a thickness and harshness to the vapor as well, maybe try a fruit or slightly menthol flavor to make it a little easier.

Try gotvapes, discount vapors, madvapes and look for cartomizer single coils. You could also try a vivi nova mini, that way you can try different ohm coil heads, and yes it will fit nicely on the ego.

My neighbor said he coughed a lot in the beginning. He was able to keep some water nearby and would frequently take a drink. It seems to have passed because he hasn't mentioned having that problem anymore. It made me think back to when I first started smoking 45 years ago. I coughed a lot then, even got nauseous a few times. Fay had a good suggestion of clicking on the InfoZone link a the very top of this page. I hope this problem resolves itself quickly for your friend. It's worth the effort to find a solution..

Great stuff here peeps. Thanks...Trying to turn my baby sis on to this. She sees my success and wants to do it but has the same problem of coughing and choking all the time. Gonna take her to the place I got my setup and have her try out some of these reco's.

Maybe try something that is cigarette sized with a good amount of VG instead of PG There are more than a few options out there lol
