A casual friend has approached me wanting a e-cig. Of course I have been raving about the benifits ect...

So she tells me that she recently had a pacemaker put in and has been sneaking analogs becuase the inhaler from the Doctor is not effective.

I have paused because I am not sure about the relationship of vaping with regard to that particular issue.

I could advise her to speak with her doc first. But I feel the need to give her some resources to show him as he may not be up to date on vaping.

Looking for thoughts and/or idea's. I want to help her not hurt her.

thanks

I agree with CJ. Her Dr obviously realizes the need to address her nicotine addiction with an inhaler but since she is still sneaking the odd cigarette during the day I bet an ecig would be just fine. If you are feeling weird about outright recommending one and even providing her with one, atleast share info with her and let her make her own decision. Anything is better than smoking in my opinion.

I'm a Congenital Heart patient and I have to go in for my 4th open heart surgery this summer. Its a pacemaker there putting in, but I have a fontan shunt so there stitching to the outside of the heart.

But thats neither here nor there, I was talking to a few cardiologist about electric cigarettes and while we can all agree (Meaning, you, me and the doctors) that nicotine isn't great for the body. If you're friend is going to consume nicotine after there operation, electric cigarettes are probably the least harmful way to do this.
