I spent another fun filled day at my local medical testing center getting a bunch of scans done. During breaks I would head to the closest door to go outside to vape, it's an area with tables used mostly by staff during their breaks. This afternoon I walked out, grabed my little rig and vaped away, when I hear, "Holy chit, I didn't see that coming! What is that rocket?" It took me a minute to realize someone was talking to me.
Three at a table, two guys and woman. The woman had an itaste vv kit, the two guys, basic starter kanger type kits. I walked over to their table, their name tags showed two RNs and a PA. As I've said before, we have no vape shops here but a few cig stores sell blister packs and one has the itaste kit. I said, "you weren't expecting me to vape?" I get it, I really do have the little old great grandma appearance. They laughed a bit sheepishly and were honestly big-eyed over a nautilus with a stainless tank and a long drip tip on a istick. They said they were embarrassed being smokers in their profession, had failed at other attempts via other methods and when the AHA said e-cigs might be an acceptable way to quit they decided to try it.
I spent a good ten or fifteen minutes with them-they were asking really good questions that ranged from the long drip tip to the advantages of the little istick. I explained that I like my vapor to be on the cool side and the longer tip helps with that, they had no idea that on some tanks you can change the tip. I told them about this forum and pulled my tablet out and showed them pics of beautiful mods, MVPs, different tanks and even tast tech's drip tips just to show them what is available that really could look like a rocket!
It felt really good to be helpful with the hope it will not only help them but allow them to lead their patients away from cigs. Needless to say it was the best part of a long day.
