A Good Vape is Better than a Good Smoke

It is for me anyway, and I loved cigarettes. I smoked them for 40 years and never once had a sincere desire to quit, despite the dangers and assorted disadvantages. But I haven’t had a real cigarette in over a month, and haven’t wanted one because vaping has become even more satisfying than smoking was.

I initially tried e-cigarettes because my wife was pushing it so hard, but I wasn’t very impressed at first because of the pre-filled cartridges that come with starter kits; those that the manufacturers hope you will buy more of. These flavors mostly range from boring to pukey in my opinion. I played around with three different types of e-cigarettes, thinking I might find something I liked better.

I didn’t know you could buy bottles of e-liquid and do it yourself, not to mention doing it with such a wide variety of flavors. When I did learn that, I ordered a few flavors from two online sources I found in a Yahoo search. They were all nasty with an odd, chemical taste. Then I stumbled upon this forum and learned (among other things) where to get better stuff. Some of the e-liquids from vendors recommended on this forum are exactly what I was hoping for.

Now I can fully appreciate what a truly a wonderful invention electronic cigarettes are. They make it effortless to quit smoking because you don't really quit. You still draw nicotine out of a stick and blow smoke of a sort, but with a choice of great flavors and none of the tobacco issues. What a deal!

I’d like to thank you all for contributing to this forum so that others can learn from your experiences. This is a great source of information on the whole subject of electronic cigarettes, and has been invaluable to me.

Welcome! And congrats on making the switch! I'm glad you stuck with it and sought out more information on it instead of giving up on the idea all together! Many of us were in your situation, And I am pretty sure a lot of us owe our success with quitting smoking to this forum! I know I do.

I am new here too, getting my head all wrapped up in vaping. Beats the HELL out of smoking, don't it? I agree, it is SO much better.

I too have learned so much here I just want to stop for a second and thank everyone for being here. I've been/am a member of a lot of internet forums and ECF is by FAR the most active, most selfless, groundbreaking group of folks I have ever come across.

I consider this (e-cigs & vaping) to be a great American grass roots movement with the ECF leading the charge! This is probably the only movement I feel totally on board with. I'm learning so much about everything, my head is spinning.

My hats off to all you great folks!

Yea vaping is the way. Its only been a week for me and I have so much more energy and a clearer mind, no more hard breathing and sore throat from smoking to much. Ecigs are a GOD sent.

I will take vaping over smoke any day I have been off analogs for a week now and have a clearer mind, lots of extra energy and money, I can already breath better and no more sore throat from smoking to much. Ecigs are GOD sent!

I got my e-cig over a year ago and didn't do enough research nor did I use it enough, kindof use it mainly while by my computer and had continued smoking analogs. Recently I picked up sports and working out again and finally dropped analogs and started vaping more often... My lungs capacity and endurance are noticeably more efficient and I have no desire to go back to analogs, just to invest in bigger and crazier vape inventions... the regular 501s weren't cutting it for me and now that I have discovered box mods... fughedaboudit!

Hello everyone and thanks for your kind responses. Thanks for the first one, AcePilot. I like your blog.

And Synonymous, I was inspired to submit that post while vaping Viking Vapor’s chocolate e-liquid. After trying various versions of chocolate, chocolate fudge brownie, chocolate cheesecake, chocolate covered cherries and such from various vendors, I gave this stuff a try. Just plain chocolate, and it’s absolutely the truest and best chocolate flavor I’ve found. Smooth and delicious. This is definitely one to get more of.

Chocolate Brownies from Mrs. T’s Bakery is my second most favorite chocolate flavor so far. The taste is a little darker, which is nice, but it’s still not as good as Viking Vapor’s plain chocolate. My third favorite is the German chocolate cake flavor from Tasty Vapor.

I tried a sample size of Vapor Bomb’s white chocolate and thought it was great, so I ordered a larger bottle. That time it was bad, with a strange vinegar smell and taste. Don’t know if I’ll try it again or not.

Viking Vapor’s vanilla is a winner, but the richest vanilla I’ve tried is the French vanilla from Mrs. T’s Bakery. That’s been an interesting experience for me. At certain times of day, especially from mid-morning until early afternoon, I can’t get enough of it. If I vape it earlier or later, it seems a little too rich.

Vapor Bomb’s Cinna-Bomb and Tasty Vapor’s Atomic Cinnacide are both great either alone or to mix with other flavors that are not especially interesting on their own. Unfortunately, I can only vape them occasionally despite how good they taste because they do a number on my mouth and throat.

Since the sweet flavors have been such a novelty after all those years of smoking cigarettes, I was especially interested in them. I’ve only begun to try out tobacco flavors. Vapor Bomb’s Virginia Menthol is decent. Another one I like is a PureSmoker Tonic flavor called Silver Leaf Tobacco.

Silver Leaf Tobacco is one of two e-liquids that PureSmoker included with the purchase of an eGo starter kit. It has a true tobacco flavor, and it’s not bad at all. Maybe not the best thing out there. I don’t know yet, but it certainly beats out all the pre-filled cartridges I’ve tried. I could see buying more of this for something that tastes like a good old regular smoke.
