These ads look tacky and tasteless to me, I can't tell if that's why I'm not liking the way it looks, or if I just don't like the device design too.
Wait a sec. So Pls tell me which one is "clone" then.

Apple with Intel inside or Lenovo with same hardware? Or wait a min. How bout iPhone with Samsung display ect. or diffrent brands of cars with same engine?
I believe that samsung made the display for iphone

im actually surprised that Evolv are going to support the clone industry

Jut the opposite. Evolv has specifically not sold to large cloning operations, but is selling to overseas designers that will make mods. This mod is original. What do you think it is a clone of (other than all mods have a similar shape)?

Unless somebody gets a design patent or trademarks the look, copying something, even 1:1 down to every last detail, is legal and perfectly acceptable. I don't get the whole "clone is bad." Charmin toilet paper is white, comes wrapped as a round, long roll on a cardboard form in square perforated sheets of consistent and exact dimension, has exactly two plies. I don't buy any Scott toilet paper 'cause it's an exact clone and that's just wrong. :-x

Man, I was in a gas station bathroom the other day and I swear those jerks had the Scott clone instead of genuine charmin -- hard to tell but I'm pretty sure it was the clone. ;)

Forget bout eGo starter kits times. Todays boxes are more like PCs. They have motherboard, chip, memory.. damn theres USB Data port and separate software to manage it (like EScribe). So all sort of different boxes (material/shape) are just like different cases/body. Long as EVOLV or YiHi are in there - im gonna call it 'original'.

Probably some of you remember Spectrum, Atari or Commorore times. Do u remember things like Amstrad or Schneider? (probably not) Most of it simply died. Just the best n most popular have right to survive. So now.. what real ''clone'' is? Its cheap pace of IMITATION which newer be a part of history - thats what it is.

I judge toilet paper in a whole different way.

With 200 W power I wonder how many people would actually vape at 200 W? Who knows at 200W the power might be pulsing.

With the way the ramp up works, it provides an awesome vape. Short pulls provide a lungful of warm vapor with no over temp. Won't be long before 200 for preheat isn't even enough lol. It's a different enough experience that it might need a new name. Ubervaping?

Evolv stopped selling chips to a company that made Zero clones. They never sold any chips to companies making Hana clones. This policy inspired HCigar to start making the vt40. HCigar wanted the good chips so they needed their own mod design to put them in. John wrote about this policy somewhere on the early adopters forum. They will happily sell to Chinese manufacturers, they just won't sell to folks who build clones.

And thats why HCigar had to REMOVE all devices with CLONE DNA30 and simillar from their offer. They did it.. and start ''new happy life'' with EVOLV and VT series (genuine chip). EOS.

@Rado

I think that u CAN NOT decide - what to call ''clone'' and what not. Its not my problem - its yours. ;)

Comparing cell phones/personal computers to box mods? ..hell yeah! Hard to find better one! Ill shows u something - YOU TELL ME WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE, mate.

You do have a promblem i think
Getting inspiration from a device, or nicking few ideas is one thing, completely ripping off the design is an entirely different story. It is a rip off of the Mustang box, and its as simple as that.
Now, as i said, i have no problem whatsoever with clones, cos i own quite few of them, but why they didn't do like what Hcigar did? Design your own thing.
