Quitting nicotine is easy for me. Quitting a lifestyle that you love just about everything about, not so much. I love the smell of tobacco, smell of smoke (both from a cigarette being inhaled/exhaled and second hand), I love the smell on my clothes and in my truck.
Being owned by cigarettes is my motive for quitting. My doctor calls them my mistress.
I found a juice in a local shop today that tastes like tobacco smoke (not tobacco leaf) both on the inhale and exhale. Since filling my tank with some I haven't had the urge to get a taste of real tobacco smoke today.

2 - If so, for how many years did you smoke? 59
3 - Have you ever tried to quit smoking? YES
4 - If you answered yes, how/with what aids did you try to quit? Will power, gum, patches, acupuncture.
5 - How long have you been vaping? 18 months
6 - How much did you smoke before you started vaping (number of cigs/day)? 2PAD
7 - How much do you smoke now? NOT at all and keeping fingers crossed no crisis arrives which is my trigger.
8 - Are you smoke-free? YES for the most part... a slip or two during crisis but not continued... hard to answer this but I don't consider myself a smoker... not even a "social" one.... only a vaper. A few puffs on a cig is a rare event.
9 - If so, how long have you been smoke-free? about six months... but, again, the two smokes a day (or less relighting the same one) during the previous 6 months I don't really consider "smoking" when I compare it to a 2PAD habit.

Great idea.

1. Yes
2. About 12-13 years
3. I've lost count of how many times I've tried to quit.
4. I tried the gum (no good) and the patches. The patches worked, but that's because I was on vacation. 3 months later I had a craving and gave in. Kicked myself while smoking for 2 more years, until I discovered vaping.
5. Been vaping for about 2 months, haven't felt (or been able to breathe) better in years.
6. Smoked a pack a day
7. Been smoke free for almost 2 months, thanks to vaping.
8. Been vaping for about 2.5 months, gave up smokes at the beginning

I've been wanting to get that out. Thank you. It has been a blast. I'm not going to be vaping forever, but this community is a life saver in more ways than you know. Vape on!

My Answers:
1 - Yes.
2 - A pack and a half of Newports a day for 5 years, I started when I was 14.
3 - Numerous times, made it no longer than a few weeks every time.
4 - Cold turkey, tapering, and chewing gum (not nic gum)
5 - 6 amazing months of vaping.
6 - A pack and a half a day
7 - Not at all.
8 - Yes.
9 - 6 going on 7 months :)

So incredibly happy with vaping. I was given an ego by a friend and it started from there. I work for fedex and being out of breath all the time was interfering with work. Vaping has saved my life, and my breath from smelling like garbage. Had a second part time job at a truck stop, working at a truck stop and trying to quit smoking is like an alcoholic working at a liquor store, couldn't escape the cigs considering I could buy them at work. But with vaping, I just quit caring about cigs. :)
