a little advice please

So I was running out to work this morning and changed batts in my metal grand. It didn't fire. It fired fine before I changed the batt. So I put a fresh batt in it and it still wouldn't fire. I was in a hurry so I put it down, picked up another mod and ran out the door. Well I'm home now and started investigating the problem. I took the reomizer off and put it on a provari and it fired. I put a pheonix in the reo.. pushed the button and the spring collapsed in a puff of smoke The phoenix wasn't shorted because I just put it on a provari and it fires fine.. it there was a short in it the provari would let me know.

So now I need a new spring. I looked on the site but the only replacement spring I see is for wood mods. Can someone point me to the right replacement spring to buy and does anyone have any ideas on what might have happened?

You might have a short in your mod and that will likely be the 510 connector, either a damaged gasket or such and you need to fix that before fitting a new spring.

ETA - the above can all be fixed with a rebuild kit - and it can be caused in the first place by screwing the RM2 down too tight.

What ohm coil do you usually run in your RM2? Did you Noalox your firing contact point? If running coils around 1 ohm you might experience misfires due to a slight build-up on the firing contact point. It might need filing and Noalox to stop the misfires.

Sometimes the bottom center pin on a atomizer, or RBA can stick out too far and cause a short. Check the center pin on the Phoenix and see if it is sticking out some and not flush with the bottom.

If the short was not in your atty, it is in the 510 connector. If so you will continue to drop springs until repaired.

Third from the left on the top row of the accessories page. Check what you had on the Reo before you changed it ..... There might be a short

If this is a older phoenix with the center post that moves this is what caused the short . I have seen this many times with that atomizer . The center post on reos is larger then most mods .

Hmmm... I've only had it a couple weeks. The coil is .9Ω and I did put noalox on the firing contact point but it's been a week or so. The 510 connection looks like I think it should and I don't think I screwed the atty on too tight.. snug but not tight. Even if I get a new spring and install it I'm kinda afraid to use it now. Should I just send it in and have it looked at? I don't particularly want to spend another $23 plus shipping to get a repair kit when it's under warranty.

It wasn't an older phoenix but it's a cheap one and the center post does move up in the device if it's screwed on too tight.. but I was careful not to screw it too tight.

Yes your welcome to send it in send the atomizer to if you could .
Please put
a note with your email address and a brief description of the problem .Also
empty any e juice in the mod and remove the bottle .It helps to put a tissue
or napkin around the tube .
