And Jules, that little hook on the end of the wire clip works perfect for removing carto caps too. An all around great tool.

Yup, already had that angle figured out. I had read that on another thread and already had the clip ready to go. It really does make taking the cap off a lot easier.

Just to make sure; you inserted it in the hole in the center? in the middle of the post? I've seen other suggestions to insert a clip into side holes (on the threads) and try to raise/center the post this way. I'm not quite sure I understand (I'm slow) and I don't want to ruin the battery.

Jules, I looked at the picture in the thread you posted, but in my V4L batteries the center post is actually BELOW the rim. Is that a different kr8 battery in tho photo? I can't possibly pull the post above the rim; it's not even flush with the rim. Any thoughts?

It's not a kr8 battery Katya, but it's a similar principle. The center post can get stuck slightly depressed. You won't pull it all the way out past the threads just up a tiny bit and it seems to help immensely.
