Soooooooo.............my Provari is in the mail and when it arrives, my wife is gonna be piiiiiiiisssssssssed.

While I wait, I thought it would be easier to ask than to wade through the seas of great reviews on the device to see if anyone has had any issues or if there are "quirks" to using a Provari.

I have bought a lot of other devices and almost all of them have a "but there is this" to it. I was wondering if there was any of that with this device.

Also, can someone tell me what exactly about it makes it awesome? I see a lot of comments stating how this is the best but not really why it is other than the build quality.

p.s. I did read Badditude's blog.

Provari is where I stopped on the main device.

Even if something better comes along I don't see the need for it since I am getting everything I want from a Provari.

I just want the perfect little tiny device.

Come out with something twice as good as a Provari and I might not be interested.

I think maybe reading the reactions of brand new owners will help.

I had 2 vamos and the threads stripped within a few months on both. After seeing the quality reviews of the threads of the Provari I finally decided to bite the bullet and get one. Best decision I ever made. No more wobble and the vape quality is a lot better then my Vamos! I love the fact that the last vape is as good as the first before the battery dies also.

I don't regret. I was lucky...My hubby never goes on the internet and have no idea about vaping gear...he did ask how much it was and I told him it was 75 dollars..... Sometimes ya just got to pick your battles! LOL

The only downside I can think of is I don't think you can go sub ohm on it....I don't care for that anyway...I build my coils on my dripper at around 1.8 and it works great on it.

It fits all my expectations of a battery device. Dependable, reliable, durable. It works each and every time, even after I drop it onto the driveway when getting out of my car.

I know people say that the battery device doesn't affect the vaping experience as much as the topper, but I consistantly get a "smoother vape" with my Provari's no matter what I place on top of it. Most Provari owners agree. I believe it has something to do with the 800hz PWM chip.

Other regulated mods are supposed to "regulate" the voltage to keep it consistant. But none of them do it better than the Provari. I get the same quality puff from the last as I do from the first.

It's ergonomic design. It feels the best in my hand compared to my other mods, great button placement, fits easily in my pocket when its not in my hand. It's got heft, but its not too heavy. It feels like "quality".

Despite the rough treatment my three Provari's accept, should one need repair I have the reassurance of knowing that I can send it in to Provape for repair and have it back within two weeks time. Unlike one of my mods made overseas whose LED and buttons collapsed into the mod seven weeks after I got it.

I sometimes wish my Provari had eGo threads, so I could use an Evod without an adapter, and of course I’d like it to be a lot smaller and lighter, but still work as good. When I have my Provari/Protank laying on the table beside my eGo/Evod, I pick up the Provari every time unless I’m going to work.

The "quirk" that comes to mind - IF you use Protanks, there is about a 30% chance that screwing it all the way down will cut off the airflow. You'd need a $5 Aerotank base to fix this - but that improves the Protanks performance and you should have one ANYWAY, ProVari or not. Other than that - it's just a rock solid device, and you should start saving to get one for the wife, too.

I don't own a Provari yet, but I have read about it, and AFAIU the only "but there is this" is the lack of Ego threading. Some people seem to dislike the one button menu, but most people seem to get used to it with no major issues.

Why don't I own a Provai yet? Because none of my current batteries have died yet. I am eagerly waiting for that to happen, so I can allow myself to make the splurge. And if, in the meantime, ProVape comes up with a new Provari version with Ego threading, that will be a nice bonus. If not, I'm just going to have to buy a 510-Ego adapter.

(Suddenly I cannot edit my posts? Oh well, two posts in a row it is, then.)

My PT2 has slots in the base, that I think should allow some airflow even when flush. But I guess I cannot know for sure until I've tried.

Ah, my friend, you proceed from a false assumption. You presume you must justify the purchase. Now, when you start off from this position, you project weakness...

Here is how you want this to go down:

Wife: Hi honey, you got a package from ProVape today. (holds up box) I don't remember us agreeing to you purchasing this. (the wife will be studying you closely, looking for any signs of weakness. It is critical how you proceed from here)
Drummer: (stands tall, looks wife dead in the eye. Walks confidently toward her.) That's because I didn't think there was anything to discuss. Here, I will take that box. (take box from her like it is yours)

This is where she will probe for a weakness after a moment or two...
proceed with the box opening, or examining the new toy, and pretend she does not exist

Wife: (exasperated, flustered) Well, we need to agree to purchases like this before you just go spend hundreds of dollars!
Drummer: (again, direct eye contact and confident posture is critical!) Yeah normally that might be true, but this is important for my vaping happiness which is a very important health consideration for me right now. I need you to accept this and move forward. Of course, if you can find a better value PV than the ProVari, I will consider your proposed replacement. I can put this on the classifieds at ECF and recover 90% of my cost easily. Let me know when you get some research done and we can discuss it further. I have already done my research.

Go right back to the box opening, or examining the new toy, and pretend she does not exist

If she starts shrieking, nagging, whining or any of those other known wife badgering activities, simply raise your hand up, palm facing her, and declare this.

Drummer: Did I not just tell you what your options are? Why are we still discussing this...is it possible you misunderstood my instructions?

Back to ignore mode.

That should do just fine. You can thank me later.

Well, my thoughts have always been............I would rather get into an argument and have the Provari (insert anything) than have an argument and not have (insert anything).

I already have the ProTankII, mini and bought the Aerotank because I couldn't find just the base in stock. I bought the starter kit to have an extra ProTankII but I already bought spare parts and glass for the ones I have. My back-ups are a Kanger Spinner and an iTaste 3.0 along with a regular eGo battery and more Smokeless Image stuff than you could shake a stick at. I am happy with the iTaste/ProtankII/Aerotank base but I am not blown away..........and I asked because I wasn't sure if I would be blown away or just a little more happy.

I bought some adapters. I was also a little miffed that it didn't have the eGo threading and my experience with adapters has been no bueno. I was looking at the iTaste SVD to get my feet wet but I really just want easy/simple and it seemed that the Provari would be the last battery I needed to buy (other than another Provari from what I have read).

It won't let me "like" your comment and I really, really, really want to. I have bought drum sets, a BMW, thousands in musical equipment and a 69 Camaro.......it just shows up and I deal with it once it arrives. Only issue is that they send those F&*#ing invoices with the cost at the bottom in the boxes.

It is a federal offence to open someone else's mail though, life would be quieter with my wife in the Federal Pen

I am glad you liked it.

Go back to it, click the refresh button, and the 'like' will appear.
