Hi, I am new and I couldn't wait to order online, I went to Waterbeds-n-Stuff and bought the Luci brand starter kit. I did that because I want to go buy refills and not have to order online whenever I need more.

Is Luci a good brand?
Am I stuck with only using Luci brand cartridges?
Can I use juice?
How do I know my cartridge is empty?
My battery light is flashing, does that mean the battery is dead or I need a new cartridge?

If I can think of anymore, I will ask. Thanks for the answers in advance!

I am not familiar with this brand either.

Can you post a picture. Or see if you can find any reference in the literature that came with it as to a model number. For example: E9, M401, Kr808, 901, 510 etc.

Does this look like what you have: http://www.myluci.com/faq/overview/

You'll know when your cartridge is empty when you start getting an "off" taste. Sort of a dry, burnt, taste. A cartridge is probably equivalent to about 5 to 7 cigarettes.

What Lakelandguy already said. Blinking indicates a low battery.

Its hard to say if you are stuck with only Luci brand cartridges until we can identify the model.

According to this http://smokelesscigaretteguide.org/luci-electronic-cigarette.html you can buy juice and refill the cartridges.

Checking it against Atomizer Compatibility List - E-Cigarette Wiki it appears the Luci is a 510 thread device, that's the good news, any 510 atty / carto should work. Looking at their website the starter kit with 2 attys, 2 batteries and some pre-filled carts was $150, grossly overpriced.

You can augment your first purchase with juice, batteries, fat batteries, cartos, attys, anything 510 threaded, but I would suggest you check here Forum Suppliers for reliable vendors.

The E-cigarette wiki page does list the Luci under the 510 model. But if you look here Electronic Cigarette by LUCI| Getting Started With Electronic Cigarettes, it looks more like a 4081 atomizer.

Thanks, good catch!! Guess the wiki needs a bit of an update for sure.
4081 parts are available at some vendors, but not as popular / widely available parts a model as a 510.

More info than I'm familiar with here: RN 4081 *Super Mini*, I've never owned a 4081

I'm familiar with a Luci.. it was one of the first ones I looked at and consider (and so consequently I borrowed one later from a friend to try) The Luci is NOT the 510. I don't know which one it is.. I think it was interchangable with nothing I had (I was hoping it worked with my lil blu.. which is compatible with the Luci)

So.. now on to more questions: You can always refill these things. They are all accessible in one way or the other. I cant remember how the Luci refilled.. have to go look in a minute. Most of them are washable too (the only one I found so far, that isn't, is the Ego Mega Carto)

To refill, you can buy juice anywhere. That would be your simplest option (and far cheaper than buying more carts from Luci) Yes, you did grossly overpay. But we all tend to do that in the beginning. Chaulk it up to lesson 1 : learned... and move along. Learn what you can, and find the next cheaper, more convienent device for you. Tis a process.

Lastly.. yes.. blinking can mean one of two things. Red blinking.. battery needs charging. Green rapid blinking.. your battery needs a clean, and that is a little cleaning process.. OR if it's auto, you sucked on it too quickly, without a break between draws.

hth!

That's the same e-cig. It doesn't have a model number and I am a little disappointed that there are only a couple flavors available in the Luci cartridges.

I am having a problem with drag on my other battery. I like the one that lights up blue anyway and it has an easy pull. The other one requires a couple hard sucks before the light even lights up. I think I can take it back to the store which is another reason I chose to buy locally. But is there anything I can do before trying to return that one?

How can I fill up the used cartridges, or can I mix flavor with those? I have menthol now and I like the minty flavor.

The website is even less than what I paid at the store! lol! I saw that after I bought it and usually I do shop online but I just want the ease of going to the store and picking up what I need, like how I used to with analogs. There were only 2 brands to choose from and Luci was more feminine and less bulky than the other brand. I'll probably end up ordering everything online since the store only carries menthol and regular flavor but I'll call to see if they have any juice. I can use any brand juice? Is there a link you can post for me that demonstrates how to put the juice in? Mine has a self cleaner, and it turned out to be a dying battery.

I like the sound of your lil blue, is that the brand? Can you post a link to that? And yes, If I do buy anything I will do it through this forum, I trust this more than anything else.

Hopefully leannebug (see her post above) can get back and tell you how to refill those cartos. Sometimes it involves popping the end cap off and using a blunt syringe to inject the juice into the filling.

I can't help you with the bad battery, but when you go back to the store, ask the guy if he will show you how to refill the carto. He may say it can't be done... cause he wants to sell you some new ones.

Yes, you can use any brand juice. Here is a link to one of several highly recommended juice suppliers. Big variety and excellent service.

Vapi, here is a link to a site with the Joye 510 no box. It is probably a better choice than the blu and is only $35. It also has manual batteries which will give you more control of your vaping. Cartridges are readily available and can be refilled fairly easily.

This is just an observation but all these model numbers and names makes me think of guns!

LOL, the numbers are used for the same reason as different calibers for guns. 510, 808, 901, 306, 810, 4081, designate the size and threading of the batteries and attys so we know which will fit and work with which.:)
