A milestone reached

So I have been through numerous quit attempts, cold turkey even a year. Through all of those one thing remained constant, the smell of someone else smoking near me did not disgust me, it tempted me, plain and simple.

So I have been using PV's for just over a month now. And I have been telling people that I am not tempted by cigs since switching over, even when surrounded by people smoking. But they did not disgust me during that time, they were just there and inconsequential to me.

Last night I was over at a neighbor/friend's house for a card game in his garage, watching my beloved Jets disappoint me yet again. Anyway most of the night there was no smoking in the garage for most of the games. However towards the end of the third game everyone left was a smoker except me and they went wanted to smoke inside instead at the table. I didn't care as whatever, I used to smoke. Well for the first time in over 15 years, the smell was absolutely horrible to me. I mean just terrible. I never though I would be there and sure enough I was. Just amazed.

On a side note, I did not gripe. I just dealt with it. I have changed enough diapers of my kids to know there are worse smells in the world, hehehehe.

I hear ya, I had the same thing happen a few months into using my PV. I sing in a couple of bands and in one of them I share a Mic with a smoker. Never bothered me before, now I can't stand it, I had to go buy an extra mic.

I always being my own mic wherever feasible. Heck most bands I have been in, I have more and nicer mics than the actual lead singer (if he has any at all which is a recurring gripe)!

I have Intro to Theatre this semester and I had to stand with different people, sometimes uncomfortably close because it's theatre and arts. Luckily nobody is a smoker in the class, but after class I kept thinking, "Oh my, I'm so glad they didn't have to think 'Oh god she reeks of smoke!'"
