Crab or krab? I love it! Crab dip, crab salad, Crab croquettes know as deviled crabs in Tampa. They are fat torpedo shaped breaded spicy crab rolls, topped with hot sauce , crab with garlic butter or lemon butter, crab stuffed into big ole mushrooms... Crab and chilau (Chill-ow) whole crab and crab meat cooked in a spaghetti/enchilada sauce. Eaten on spaghetti outside on a newspaper covered table or at the beach so you can jump in the water to wash off! It's a Tampa fusion dish from the early 1900's. The crab dish comes with nut crackers to break open the shell and I dare you not to drip sauce all over yourself!
Like the Cuban sandwich the deviled crabs and crab 'n' chilau they are all Florida inventions . The last two to bolster the blue crab industry when the economy was so bad bad in the early 1900's. Anyone could (and still can) go to the gulf or bay and catch blue crab.
Then vendors would go up and down streets selling the Deviled crabs for 5 or 10 cents each.
Sorry I digress..a lot!

Today I'm fasting on lemon water, cucumber water and coconut water. Son in law brought home a scrumptions bag of rosemary/parmesan cheese rolls yesterday - a weakness for me, so I whipped a steak out of the freezer and had little steak rolls. Tummy wasn't used to that much red meat at once, so I need to give it a break today. But I'm looking forward to a huge chicken and pepitas Caesar salad the following day.

Lovin Fudgey's avi.

EDIT: Oops, forgot SIL will make scampi tonight, so I'll be good up to that point.

It's my other job- i work with clients with eating disorders. Tasty and nutritious is a big part of things. Tonight it's probably back to peanut butter or soup...or a publix white pizza (they're surprisingly good). and, yeah, the clients know that i don't actually cook at home.

Son came over tonight but I wasn't up to making a "meal" so we had Junk yard Dogs. That's kosher hot dogs (I just like them better) With everything in the house on them! I use castleberry hot dog chili, cole slaw, kosher pickles, grated cheese, onions and all the condiments. For me just mayo, ketchup and mustard.
I may have to skip eating for a week or so!
