so I stumbled across this page a few days ago (never realized how big of a vape community there was) and I have some simple questions (like many others).

Im new to vaping, couple weeks in now, attempting to quit smoking. I love it, my friends had started doing it and sucessfully quit smoking so I was sold. Anyways, I went with what they had the smoov with the bigger battery. I am really just curious what some of the differences are with for example the 510 and other similar models.

Maybe more specifically what the difference in voltage does for the vape experience. For the most part I'm happy with the smoov but as I get more into it I'm looking at purchasing a new unit.

I think I understand how PG/VG works but if someone can clarify that it would be appreciated. I accidentally ordered 70vg/30pg instead of the other way around, havent got it yet but I usually like a good throat hit curious what that may be like.

Ive really just been reading around on here and watched a few youtube videos, any help would be greatly appreciated and any other basic information regarding being new to all this is awesome.

thanks in advance

Welcome & congrats!

You may want to check out Phil Busardos vids, he goes into alot of detail on his reviews;

I believe he's in Rochester also and I think that there's a monthly meet up in that area that you may want to check out.

hth! ;)

pg=more throat hit, less vapor (more stealthy)
vg=less throat hit, more vapor
preferred ratios seem to be 80/20, 70/30, 50/50 etc.

PG/VG ratio goes like this:

MORE PG = MORE throat-hit and MORE flavor but LESS vapor
MORE VG = LESS throat hit and SOFTER flavor but CLOUDS of vapor
:vapor:

The voltage thing really is about controlling the amount of heat your atomizer or cartomizer coil produces. More voltage = more heat. This can increase TH and affect flavor (although that may not be good thing) but the single biggest advantage of variable voltage is that it allow you to tailor the vape to your preference and so get the most from the widest range of cartomizer/atomizers.

Oh - and welcome to ECF! Lots of friendly folk ready and willing to help here at vape-central!

Welcome to ECF itsdan and congrats. Once you "up" the voltage a whole new world of attys and cartomizers opens up. Many move up to a Kgo, Riva or E-Power- true 3.7 volt and then later a VV/ variable volt. Here's an Ecig glossary with most terms:

Good Luck.
