*First off if you have nothing positive to say keep moving, if you think im here to get attention keep moving...

So I've been on this site for awhile, never really posted anything due to the way people can be over the internet, but due to a recent loss i feel i have to share this story, i dont know maybe its my way to forget or to share the gift i have been given.

It all started at age 16 kicking it with my brother as he was older he was a smoker, i looked at him and just rubbed off on me, several years later 5 to be exact still smoking, but one thing has changed he is no longer around, and i am ruining my health i am coughing up black ...., cant breathe enough is enough. I went in search for help i saw the Blu e-cigarettes i bought them but they were not a all out fix i still wanted to smoke and i did still smoke. i called my brother to tell him i was trying e-cigs and he was like dude ive been doing it for like 6 months now, and he just got an evic and have me his ego twist, that lasted me 2 weeks before i was trying to upgrade. i wanted to be better than him. So i went out and got a evic and loved every moment of it. I realized how much money i could save by making my own e-juice so i got into that, and that went on for prolly 2-3 months.

one day he calls me, and asks me to give him some e-liquid i cant my license is expired you have to come to me, he chose not to do this, i could tell he wasn't the same as he use to be he was different something wasn't right. i blew it off due to my extremely tight schedule, 12 hour work shifts 7 days a week, a week goes by and hes trying to sell me his evic i jump on it and take it off his hands. got me a cheap deal off of it. i didnt think anything was wrong, went back to my normal routine work home sleep again.

Heres were some people will say why did he write this huge long life story, One night after work just as i am laying down ready for bed, i get a call i never get a call a 1am, so i jump up, and its my stepdad, i could tell in his voice something was wrong, and he proceeds to tell me my brother had killed himself. i dropped my phone and walked away. my gf had picked up the phone and knew something was wrong. the next week was dealing with his burial, getting all of his arraignments taken care of and so on so forth.

So i guess, really this is me saying never take anything for granted, and i am taking the last gift my brother ever gave as far as i can, i am now into mechanical and rba's i have several devices, and loaning the devices out to help spread the e-cig movement, i know its corny i know i prolly shouldnt of put this on here but i had to get it out somehow.....

* also dual coil rba's how does the resistance work?

That's a pretty sad story, but you weren't to know.

There's more than nicotine in tobacco that is addictive and which we go through withdrawals even while vaping nicotine. (Research topic: WTAs whole tobacco alkaloids). A support group like this one is very important. I've PIF'ed devices and juices to people who were in trouble following the example of others - yes the internet is a rough place but this community and vapers in general are pretty good people. I'm proud to be a vaper and part of this community and the Australian one.

My own story is that my Father died at the age of 56, from his second heart attack due to smoking. He probably had COPD but never said, except that they would not do a heart bypass after his first heart attack because it was too bad. This was in the eighties, before vaping and even before NRT was around. He'd already had two operations on his legs to replace major arteries that were blocked, but that didn't stop him smoking.

I was pretty determined to give up myself and tried the new NRT patches a few year later, but they seemed to do nothing. I stopped using them, got a nasty case of clinical depression and wound up on anti depressants - Zoloft. I lost my job in IT with the DoT. In the end I started smoking again just to get my life back.

Fast forward 25 years or so and here I am, nearly 5 months tobacco free. It's the first time in about 35 years that I've considered myself a non-smoker - the smell of cigarette smoke is nauseating.

Dual coils are normally wired in parallel - eg AGA-W and most dual coil cartos etc. You have two coils of (for example) 5 ohms each in parallel which appears to be 2.5 ohms to the battery. That means that for a 2.5 ohm dual coil you need a very high voltage to get it to vape right - more than you would expect just going off the total resistance. I've also tried a 1.8 ohm dual coil on a Vamo and found I couldn't really drive it hard enough to be any good. I think I'd only consider trying it again if I had a kicked 5V device.

thank you, and i am doing okay, so in parallel? how is this done on an aga-t2? just set it up series would be them joined by Nr wire correct? so parallel is just two diff negatives going to the same center post

People do dual coils in parallel, otherwise it's the same as just making a single coil with more wraps. I doubt there is much to be gained by using NR wire, but I've never done it.

Yes, parallel coils will have both negatives going to the center post. The AGA-T has enough holes in it so you should be able to make this work. I am vaping one right now, but have never seen a dual coil built on it. The tricky part I think would be the wicking for both coils.

How did you set it up JDM? Really got me curious now.
i got my rba like 3 days ago, built first wick and wire hated it, when it was warm it wicked decent but sitting in my room with a/c blazing it and go to take it hit it was dry... i had a bunch of old i-clear30 coils laying around, i drilled out wick hole in the aga-t took two of the silica from the iclear30's and then wrapped my ss mesh around them, wrapped a 30g kanthal wire and DAMN!! i can fire this thing till either my battery is dead or im out of juice no hot spots no hiccup at all

I'm so sorry about your brother. Totally understand, though. My dad committed suicide 5 years ago. You're right, it changes you in ways you can't even imagine.
Thank you for sharing and good luck with your adventures in vaping. : )
