I was just reading about perfumey tastes usually means there was too much flavoring. I have some dekang fruit flavors, that taste like perfume or medicine. Did they overflavor them, or are the DK fruit flavors just nasty? I have grape, strawberry, and lemon. All are gross. I've already decided that they were going to be trashed, so if they are unfixable, it's not a big deal. Just wondering if diluting them out would salvage them.

I finally got chance to taste some of the flavors I got from PA, and WOW. I am really impressed. I opened them all when I got them, and they smell sooooo good. The strawberry especially smells incrediable.

Anyway, I mixed up a ml of vanilla cappuchino, vanilla mocha, peppermint mocha, and strawberry/bavarian cream/chocolate.

The vanilla cappuchino and vanilla mocha are awesome! My strawberry needs to sit, I just don't taste any chocolate. I don't taste any mint in the peppermint mocha either, so that one is sitting to see what happens. I have the other bottles sitting too. I've started a notebook for flavorings, to keep notes of my taste tests. I strongly suspect that after sitting, the vanilla capp and vanilla mocha will be way too strong. I didn't realize I would like coffee/deserty flavors so much! They are really dark though, so I'm sure they are hard on atomizers.

I'm thinking through possible flavor combinations for the flavors I have, and wow, I really need more bottles!!! I only got 10 3ml bottles. They are all full, sitting with my test flavors in them. Guess I won't be trying any new mix flavors until I decide whether to scrap the current flavors, or if I will use them. Any suggestions on flavors that mix well?

I have: cappuchino, mocha, dulce de leche, cheesecake, chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, bavarian cream, peppermint, hazelnut, creme de menthe (loranns), and amaretto (loranns).

I believe the perfume taste comes from when alcohol is used as a base in the flavoring.
Some flavors are only available in an alcohol base. Others are available in a PG base and don't seem to have this smell.

Almost all the Dekang liquids seem to use these and it makes for a nasty smell for some folks. (me included)
For these I always have to let them air out for quite a while before the smell is gone.

You might be able to salvage those deKang's by cutting them with unflavored base. The only way to know it to try.

I remember from my early period that I did not like any of their stuff, but there were lots of folks who seemed to love them. And that is a good thing as it started me thinking about DIY sooner rather than later.

I know I have a 4 oz bottle of that Peppermint that I'll be cracking open soon. (Obviously I have found a number of uses for it, or I'm completely off my rocker, but both may be true.)

I never thought of airing it! I'll give that a shot, and also dilute a little bit, and see if that helps. Maybe there's some use for this stuff yet.

DK peppermint used to be my daily vape. I ran out of the old batch that I had, and the new stuff I got is aweful. I doctored some of that up with some PA peppermint, and it tastes fine now. Good dang thing, since I have so much. I'll definately be getting the gianormous-sized bottle of peppermint soon. I'm sure I won't waste my $ on DK peppermint anymore.

All but the peppermint of the dekang flavors that I have tried I hated. That's what got me thinking diy too. I just can't afford to pay $15 for 10ml of the "good stuff"
