Keep batteries out of extreme temperatures of any kind. Cold will sap the charge out of a battery and heat will stress it.

Took a quick minute on google and found a non in-depth article that should offer a little insight. Just ignore the laptop references. I believe that our batteries are the same type of battery, so some of the same rules should apply. The care and feeding of Li-Ion batteries | TechRepublic

I would also be careful keeping carts in the heat. It might dry them out faster.

Rappel - what if you got him one of those insulated lunch box type of sacks. Even without an ice pack I think it might keep things cooler? Just a thought...

Use one of those, get a sun shade for the windshield or get a UV resistant tint put on the car. Any of these things can help decrease the inside temperature if it is an issue.

Y'know, my hubby always wanted one of those upmarket cars that have a cooled glove compartment to keep his beer cold  (you can take boy out of the western suburbs ...). Perhaps your hubby needs to trade up to a better vehicle? Mmmm? Well, yes, a cooler box would be cheaper, just not as classy.

I think crossed ammo belts should be the must-have accessory for every male vaper. Store all your batteries & cartos on your person all the time. Verrry macho!

At hardware stores they always have a "Bargain Bin" of Harbor freight grade tools. Look for a flashlight that comes with a belt pouch. I have also seen them at dollar tree now and then. Get a crappy 2AA mag-lite wannabe with case. Strip the flashlight to use for a tube-mod if your into that, or just give to kids at halloween. The pouches I got with mine were nylon, and the have a buttonable cover. Fits an eGo, or 3 "penstyle" batts really well! Bit cases work well for extras attys/cartos also.

Mabbo, I knew there was an explanation. I'm so sorry to have picked on your deformity. I'll do it again, but I'll apologize again as well. lol
Anita, I have no words.

Hubby brings a cooler to work most days, so he is going to start leabing his kit in the cooler. Hopefully this will take care of the problem. He has some great freezer packs that he got from one of the hospitals that they use when transporting supplies (hopefully not organs though, that would be kinda creepy). They stay cold for hours on end and they are sealed.
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. Y'all are so durned helpful (and amusing to boot). :)
