Then based on what David responded to you, I would try the thicker one (the .100). As he said, it will be tighter right before it stops turning. Then your battery wont be loose inside the tube.
The O ring is made from a softer rubber than the battery and the O ring should flatten out, not the battery. If you still think it is too tight, try adding a washer to the bottom battery contact pin. If you add a washer then the .070 O ring will probably work.
There are many combinations available using the washers and O rings to adjust for a battery that is slightly too long or too short by a few thousandths but do it with O rings if possible as that wont affect your switch
throw length. It is also easier to change the O ring when changing
batteries if needed than changing washers.
