I went through a period of different medical treatment that when I smoked I would drop cigarettes. I had cigarette burns on carpet and had so many on my couch I had to get a new one. Since then I quit dropping cigarettes but now I occasionally drop an ecig. I have never had a fire. The cigarette would just burn out or just burn a hole. I have never understood how a cigarette could cause a house fire. Maybe it was the material in the carpet or couch that prevented the fire.
