I bought a eGo kit and within 2 weeks both batteries went down. Being outside the 14 day warrantee they would not replace except for one, if I bought a new battery. The batteries would no longer take a charge and one slowly lost its switching capabilities. The replacement batteries seem to be working for now (on their third day). I decided to autopsy one and found that the battery still had a charge but the micro-switch went bad. I then came across a photo of a Joye battery by Scottebe (thanks Scottebe). It seems to be two different batteries. Could these be eGo or clones. I don’t want to divulge the company with out being sure first and they claim and sale it is a Joye eGo. Any thoughts on these batteries?

Thanks for the reply Thudd. I’m not quite sure how to approach this. The company I purchased this from advertised on this site, and if the batteries and kit are truly Joye eGo then It would be unfair to implicate wrong-doing on their part. If they are clones then I would not hesitate to expose them to you and others including Joyetech. If these are not true Joye batteries could it be that the shop I bought from were fooled by the Reps., or maybe Joye was just lazy one day and forgot to print their name on the battery? Any way I’ll see what a few others say and work from that.
Thanks again Thudd

I am not sure as I have not bought any that were advertised as authentic eGo batts. However both of mine work fantastically and have for a week or more now. If that changes I'll let you know. One of em only cost $15 which is below what I saw eGo's sold for. But again I am noyt sure, perhaps those just happened to be faulty, odd though for it to be two diff ones.

Petem- seems like your on to something. And from the link you posted a suggestion from Bageone stated that the batteries are made by one company and that would leave kits to be packaged by others. Could be that a lot of other parts may be generic and supplied to other ecig makers. So the problem with bad batteries, especially when they are on sale would leave one to think that vendors are emptying their old stock. See my Stale Stock Conspiracy in LowThudd’s thread “My eGo batts...So what gives?”

That is one problem in itself. But the sale of clones and using another’s logo is the other problem. That can only be dealt with by exposure of the greedy vendors. We are not regulated----yet so we have to do this thing ourselves. And the problem with stale batteries, well maybe there is a way to get these ecig guys to date the batteries or as LowThudd related to me, “Greenhouseone.com has the best warranty going right now, 1 year”.

Ok, I’m back to report. Joyetech never replied to my e-mail to verify the batteries. I received two new replacement batteries from Nicotine Nirvana with the condition that I purchase one for $19.99. Ok, now the 4th Of July ECF Ego Sale for $57.23 just went up $77.22. Received batteries Aug. 9 and both batteries died today Aug. 23. Right on, right inside the 14 day warrantee. What next you say? The story first.

My eGo’s are my go to work vapor. Easy to conceal, pack a long charge and heat my cartomizers just the way I like them. When at home its right to my new GG. Today at the end of the work day I went to pick up my eGo for a hit and it was already hot. What the hell. Poltergeist are vapeing my eGo. Well that ended real fast. Fiddled with the switch, nothing. It cooled down to final death. Ok, when I got home the other battery worked and I was thinking wouldn’t it really suck if this one died to. Folks I swear to all that is good and blessed that the switch light began to blink non-stop and then stopped, and then would not take a charge. The battery from work also would not take a charge. Damn how do they fit a terminating timer in these little things? End of story.

After not getting confirmation from Joyetech about the batteries I was thinking maybe they are using generic brands. And I’m not going to trash the vendor, I’m just not buying from them anymore . And I’m not even going to ask for replacements. Just start over and go with a 1 year warranty from greenhouseone.com. But I am convinced that the batteries and possibly other components are not Joyetech, or as Joyetech once provided. Saying once provided is conditioned by my claim that some companies may also take shortcuts on their original products.

I dissected these batteries and the batteries on two were good but the switches were bad. One had a bad battery and the other I haven’t gotten to yet. I plan to mod these some way and maybe get use from the batteries or maybe string them up as lures and if I hit a Marlin I’ll be able to recoup my expenses.

I’ve attached four photos as follows:
1. My dissected batteries.
2. Photo from electroji33 of a trueman riva battery (which are exactly like the eGo I have???)
3. Scottebe photo of authentic Joye eGo Battery
4. My back up ecig and the GG

Joye assembles them all, as well as packages them. Its not difficult to get them branded. From what I can see on the site, they look authentic. I can usually spot knockoffs in a split second. Hes either ligit, or darn good at masking. Im left with 3 things. 1-Bad batteries, and knowing joye, thats RARE. 2 sets of bad, unheard of. 2- not wanting to warranty or replace is just bad business, as joye warrenties their goods. 3- Double check that charger. With 4 batteries, unless found to be fraudulant batts, its gotta be the charger somehow.
Unless your just an unlucky guy that stumbled on an unlucky supplier with an unlucky lot of bad egos.....

Hey Chief, sorry for delay. Charger is fine. And as stated switches on two were bad. I’m just going to eat this one and try Greenhouse One and their one year warranty. The kit I bought from Nicotine Nirvana on day one was no deal. One atty went bad first day which they would replace if I mailed it back. Decided to keep it and made an e9 to 510 adapter out of it. Then the batteries died. Then the replacement batteries died which I coddled as a newborn child. When it comes to customer service and product quality, it is everything to me. I messed up my first PV when I dropped it from the top of a ladder. When I asked Totally Wicked if I could buy a replacement part for the Screwdriver , they dismissively told me they couldn’t sale me a replacement part and that I would have to buy a new one. What they should of said is we will try to contact the manufacture for you and see if the part can be obtained. Never bought from them again. We all come across the good, bad and ugly here and when we find the good, it’s a keeper.

So I’ll try Greenhouse One and their one year warranty and see what is what. Until then I plan to start a thread on battery warranties and see what others have done.

Shaka, just found this while looking for supplies: Electronic Cigarette, E-Cigarette, Elektronische Zigarette, Cartridge, eZigar

Recently, we received a report that there is a complete copy of eGo from the distributors; it even included the exact same case and manual. Of course, this was not approved or made by us, Joye Technology. We are concerned that the end- user’s safety couldn’t be guarantee if they purchase this copy.
Here is a link to the cloned eGo:
