Petem- seems like your on to something. And from the link you posted a suggestion from Bageone stated that the batteries are made by one company and that would leave kits to be packaged by others. Could be that a lot of other parts may be generic and supplied to other ecig makers. So the problem with bad batteries, especially when they are on sale would leave one to think that vendors are emptying their old stock. See my Stale Stock Conspiracy in LowThudd’s thread “My eGo batts...So what gives?”

That is one problem in itself. But the sale of clones and using another’s logo is the other problem. That can only be dealt with by exposure of the greedy vendors. We are not regulated----yet so we have to do this thing ourselves. And the problem with stale batteries, well maybe there is a way to get these ecig guys to date the batteries or as LowThudd related to me, “Greenhouseone.com has the best warranty going right now, 1 year”.

Went looking and their price for the Ego is great (is it a genuine Ego for sure?
1 year warranty?

I had the same thing happen to my Ego. Charged one battery after it died but it never took a charge. When the 2nd battery died I went to charge it and the LED continued to blink until it was completely dead. Now the charger LED doesn't turn red when I put the batteries on to charge and both batteries are dead. They lasted almost one month to the day and both batteries would not charge after they died the same day. 14 day warranty from the seller. It may be the charger but one of the battery switches has that burnt death smell of electronics. How did you pull the battery apart? I may build a mod from the parts.

Hey Thudd, we know they are out there. And your example of how to handle these people is how it is done. Expose them, them ignore them. Or we could foolishly hope for regulation and watch prices go up along with the hidden cost brought by legislation and taxes. A few here will as I have, get suckered punch now and then but the overall pain/cost will be greatly less than that provided by regulation. I believe the market place will direct this one. We also have another advantage. The size of the Ecig community, it’s growing awareness, technological advances and knowledge is larger toward any one product I know of. Kind of a Art Deco movement of smoking.

So I thank all that contribute to these forums and watch each others back. I hope we never see regulation, but I doubt it. I’m sure Big brother and Big Tobacco are eagerly waiting for their cut of the pie.

If I don’t stop now this diatribe may go on for ever. Totally off subject and assuming.
Again, good find Thudd.
