Rather Eurocentric, though. She left out the two-year court battle in the U.S. that began in 2008 when the FDA put e-cigarettes on a Customs watch list to be confiscated as an unapproved drug and drug-delivery device combination. One major brand at the time, Smoking Everywhere filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, asking for an injunction against the product seizures. Very shortly thereafter, Soterra, Inc., makers of njoy products joined as a Plaintiff.

If that suit had not been filed, I believe the e-cigarette industry would not have lasted long in the U.S. For more details about this legal battle see E-cigarette History starting with March, 2009. The legal documents involved can also be viewed here: CASAA Smoking Everywhere vs. FDA

Thanks to CASAA's VP Kristin Noll-Marsh for compiling this valuable information, and to CASAA president Julie Woessner who kept ECF members informed about the progress of the case.

Thanks... enjoyed the read and passing it on to those I know who are still smoking as well as activist non-smokers (never did.) Believe it or not they're in the network too. Actually, its not just anti-articles that seem to have stepped up, I've noticed some "strange" activity on the boards today. In fact, it got me in a bit of a bad mood this morning so I just left rather than loose it. ;-)

My other half is in the camp of "nicotine is deadly". She read it, is impressed, it literally dissolved all fears of vaping and nicotine.

Anti vaping articles are rife these days, I swear it is the cause of my high blood pressure ha-ha :D

Well done! You might care to reinforce your OH's newfound belief re nicotine by having her read the following, from Chris Price's (ECF's "rolygate") blog, which I just rediscovered: The Great Nicotine Myth

It's the most comprehensive, readable source I've found for rebutting all the "nicotine is deadly/highly addictive" propaganda.
