I have an original MVP (version one without variable wattage). It's over a year old, and although I don't use it on a daily basis anymore, it is working good as new when I do use it.

It's too early to know how long in longivity the MVP will last. They haven't been out long enough. There have been a few MVP's in which the battery has died after only a few months of use, but that seems to be the exception rather than the rule. There's no way to replace the LiPo battery inside the MVP. Once the battery dies your MVP becomes a paperweight. Good old Chinese technology.

Edit: I recommend getting an inexpensive precision screwdriver set if you don't already have one. A common issue with the MVP is a very loose-fitting center pin in the 510 connector. Over time a juice attachment connector will push the MVP's center pin down into the connector so that electrical connection is impaired. Using a small flathead screwdriver you can tease the connector pin back up a millimeter or two so that it can continue to make contact with your juice attachment.

Welcome back! My own experience with many forms of lithium-based battery chemistries is that they tend to work well for up to about 300-350 charge cycles, by which point they tend to hold a lower charge overall. If you're so inclined, you could measure the internal resistance of the battery when it is new, as that is one of the factors that tends to increase over time. As a result, you'll notice that older cells tend to become warmer than newer ones while charging, a symptom of the increased internal resistance of the cell itself.

The time it will last you is really based on your usage, your charging habits and several other factors. If you want to maximize the use of any lithium-based cell, charge it only when required, do not store them "empty" and ideally do not store them entirely "full" either. Storage temp between -20c and 30c.
