I guess I'm officially part of the old people. I did go to a party last night, had a couple of glasses of wine, but came home about 11:30. Rung in the new years with beasties (it is so totally unfair that i have a headache this morning)

CES, about the same here, got home about 11:00 started to watch TV in bed but MS PT fell asleep about 11:45. I gave her a Kiss on the forehead at midnight. Couldn't even kiss the cat, he was curled up under cover next to Ms PT. I finally fell asleep around 1:00am.

I did get to hug the dogs at midnight, then fell asleep watching netflix.

I don't know if any of you are familiar with snork that spends a lot of time in the Aromaejuice thread but he posted several hours ago that his son passed away. Just thought I'd mention it if anyone here knows him.

I'm not looking forward to driving to work tomorrow, for sure. Animals have extra bedding and food, generators have fuel. All we can really do is just get through it.

Morning,firechick. We have a 7000 watt propane generator and 150lbs of propane. Doesn't run the water heater or stove but it runs everything else including the furnace. Hubby has a plow truck to clean up the mess when it's over.

We run smaller, gas fired units for us and the neighbor. It's shovels and a snow blower for the driveway and path to the barn. I usually shovel some space for the animals to go outside because the power equipment makes them nervous and I don't want anyone hurting themselves running away. The dogs pretty much tear up the snow in their yard, so not much work there.

Hubby wants a whole house generator, but that's probably still a few years out. We're just getting into life without kids in the house.

The automatic whole house generators are nice but ours is fine for us. We have a woodstove also.

Congrats on five years Wiz! It's been long enough since I've seen you post that I almost forgot what your avi looked like.

I guess we're all a bunch of old farts staying home for the most part. I got another surprise tonight but not a good one. My oldest daughter went down to the basement to get a game off of a shelf and said that there was a big puddle of water on the floor. The hot water heater started leaking from one of the fittings on top of the unit but it's leaking around the part that is part of the heater and not the threaded fitting that goes into it. Looks like I'll be going to buy a water heater in the morning and installing it. Just what I needed after all the Xmas expenses.

I was going to change it intentionally to see if I could throw you off! Hot water tank dripping from the top may just be a dip tube Hitt. If it's leaking from the bottom your in trouble!

Hey Wiz! Good to see you again. I'm back, a little older, wiser, and a bit worn out. I was so busy the past few years that I had time for nothing. The bottom fell out, so I have lots of time now. It's great to see the old gang again.
