OTD, I hated Win 8 as I converted everything at home to it about a year ago, but its finally starting to grow on me. I went on and upgraded to 8.1 a few months ago and its a lot better.

We've had the wifemates new computer for a bit over a month now I think it is and neither of us is warming to it at all yet )-:

Can you give me some idea of what is better with the 8.1 upgrade.
Lord almighty, ANY improvement would be a tremendous boon to the miserable mess that is Win8!

PT do you know if windows 8 can be partitioned to run in XP mode? I know windows 7 can....

pretty sure i've read that certain features can be turned off making windows8 run more like windows7 but i have no idea how to go about it - i'm not letting go of my xp

OTD, yes with 8.1 I can shut down the computer the old way and not have to do the mouse to the upper right comer ETC... Also can go to desktop upon boot-up instead of that tablet metro interface, still missing some stuff but getting better.

Same to you Fran! The weather here is suppose to be great. My new camera was waiting for me when I got home so I will have a new toy to play with. I also need to transfer my wife's iPad info to my old one so I can sell hers.

We're still in the deep freeze here. 6 degress right now. Possible low 20's tomorrow and snow.

Evening. More computer work today. I got a crash course on programming a Cisco router and we finished up everything else. Next week should be kinda back to normal .

I finally got the home computer fixed tonight. I had to run repairs on two framework updates and install another update. That was after running eset to get rid of infections and uninstalling and reinstalling all apple software. iTunes wouldn't run at all before .
