Not that I've ever tried to stuff myself down a chimney but, do you ever worry that you will have a "moment" and then find yourself on youtube? 
My small grandson got lost at the shopping mall .
He approached a uniformed security guard and said, Ive lost my grandpa!
The guard asked, Whats his name?

The guard smiled, then asked, Whats he like?
My grandson hesitated for a moment and then replied,

Ok Hun, I'm fixin' to tell you something about being Southern. Being Southern doesn't mean that I'm not educated. I may say "ain't" and "y'all" and call you "Sweetie" or 'Honey" and I might "bless a lot of hearts" and I might even "piddle around". I'll greet you with a big "Hey" and a hug. All soda pop is "Coke" and I might refer to my grocery cart as a "buggy" and by golly, that's okay. I'm polite and say "Ma'am" and "Sir". And if you hear a Southerner say, "Oh, hell no!!", you'd better run!!! I am proud to be a Southerner, Those that don't like it can go yonder! And P.S., if you don't know where yonder is then you ain't from the south 
Are you kidding? I would have been spanked for forgetting! So would my children and grands. My Grandma used to say..you will be respectful to your elders and betters!

I hate Hate HATE it when people call me Ma'am or Miss! I always just wanna say, "do I LOOK like a ma'am to you?!?!?" What's funny is, I have NO idea why I feel insulted by it! Must be new age thinking...
I think it has something to do with the way people looked to us that we had to say it to as kids, and we're trying to distance ourselves from that image? Heck, I don't know, young people these days...

I don't like it when people call me ma'am either . I'm in the south so it happens, but I'm not FROM the south ...so 'yes ma'am' always sounds sarcastic to me.

Me too, and I AM from the south! It all comes down to perception really; my saying is "Perception is Everything".
