Glad that there are some that recover....from the behavior of my mom's cats i just assumed there wasn't much left. I have less of a problem when cats do what cats do. but get very ...... when people cause harm. and glad when others nurse critters back to health

I hear you! Animals act according to their instincts -- people have choices! I let the cats have their mice and rats and lizards, but the birds I just have to help if I can! And I keep a close eye on the dogs and don't let them hurt the critters around here.

Yeah, I'm way less than thrilled when the dogs act on their instincts. But once in the woods my crazy girl dog came trotting back, ever so proud, (look mom! look what i have!) carrying a large portion of some medium sized critter that had died some time ago....she was soooo happy! course that was the same time that there was a fish die off in the lake on that property, and the dogs spent the rest of the afternoon rolling on every fish they could find. and there were a lot. EEEEEEEeeeeewwwwwwww. It took one bath to get them to a point where they were allowed in the car for the drive home...and another once we got home.

Oh, boy, do I relate!! When we lived in the city, we'd take the dogs out to one of the area lakes a couple times a week to run and swim and play, and more than once, they found an old dead fish to roll on! Eeeeeeeeew! I would put them in the back of the pickup I had then and run their leashes thru the back window so we could keep them from falling or jumping out, and ease them home to an OUTside bath!!

...and being dogs, they just don't get WHY something that is so much fun for them makes us crazy...then again, maybe they do

My family is always "speaking" for the animals -- saying out loud what we suppose they're thinking, and my Mom always says the dogs are saying, "Do you KNOW how long it takes to build up a good stink like this?!? And just like THAT, you just waaaaaash it away"!

especially cause they'd get wet, roll and come over and shake ........my clothes smelled almost as bad as the dogs did.

One of the many reasons we made a stray we adopted an indoor cat (about a year and a half after we adopted him) was that he kept "playing" with baby animals. I'd get them away from him and try to rescue them, but it never worked, they always died Poor Squeaky never stopped wanting out. But of course there was the danger of cars, and people with BB guns (he had a BB in his hip which later led to severe arthritis) and the unneutered male cats who ran around the neighborhood and picked on my poor baby (he was neutered). I kept reminding myself of all the perils he was no longer dealing with when I'd see him staring wistfully out the window.

Catmom, DH keeps wanting to let Baby Boy and Nomad out because they cry and beg and try to get out (and he is SO soft-hearted!). I keep reminding him that it will NOT hurt them to stay in, and it's for their health and protection until they're both fully recovered!

Beats me! I'm still amazed that I can post pictures. I had to be walked through it step by step. I think it was CES, and I think she's at Vapestock. Geesh, I wish I had a memory!
