Hey everybody! Ive decided to add snuff to my arsenal on my mission to quit smoking cigs. You people have been great in answering all my questions about snus (which is really helping!) So I was hoping to get a few of my questions answered about snuff?! First, I ordered QS Irish cream, and toque (if i spelled it right) toffee. Are these good newby snuffs? Also I've read to sniff hard, sniff soft, and all of the above!! Can someone tell me the proper way? What is the best amount of snuff to use so nasal discharge, and stuffiness aren't much of an issue?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks again, so much!!!;)

Yes, definitely sniff SOFT and either off the back of the hand or by pinch is the best methods (for me at least) I actually prefer the pinch as it's much easier to control the amount of snuff you intake. Take a small amount, roughly the size of an appleseed or even smaller if you wish and bring it to your nose and lightly inhale, even lighter than you would breathe. Toque's varieties I've noticed are a bit easier on the nose. Them and Wilson's of sharrow. Just stay away from the toast and scotch varieties for now until you get your sniff down. Then move on to finer grinds. I'd suggest some others, but everyone's different in what flavors they prefer. My first "beginner" snuffs were:

dholakia swiss chocolate
wilson's of sharrow crumbs of comfort
toque spanish gem
poschl replay virginia

and a few others I can't remember. These are all fantastic for a first timer. Good luck, and welcome to our world :)

Start out with something that is seseme seed sized (wisdom gained from OTD) and progress from that as you see fit. Just breathe it in gently, do not snort (I made that mistake the first few times) the object is to get the snuff into the front part of your nose, not the sinus part.
I have not tried the snuffs you ordered but both sound like they would be good beginner snuffs. Almost everyone loves the Swiss Chocolate and it is very easy to take.

Anyway good luck with your snuffing

Ok I am really off to bed now.

Although I haven't tried the QWS irish cream or the toque toffee, I do have dozens of different tins of toque and a few QWS. From what I understand, Toque's Toffee is the best toffee scented snuff out there! It will be on my to-order list for my next order! Most toques are very easy to take, and very good for beginners.

    Somewhere between here and there
I haven't tried either of the two you ordered either. I was lucky enough that skrymr sent me a few samples to try before I placed my first snuff order. I am thankful for that. A couple that I like that come to mind are dholakia swiss chocolate, swisher honey bee, swisher square, ozona raspberry. There are many that I like and haven't really settled on any one or two that I use all of the time. I don't have the link but maybe someone else will post the link for the snuff reviews at snuffhouse. That is a good resource to find ones that you might like. I have tried bullets and they are not bad to use but I prefer the method that OTD told me how to do where you push your thumbnail into your first finger, tap some onto your thumbnail and sniff from that. For me that is less messy than doing a regular pinch. I think I just haven't gotten the hang of regular pinching yet. Good luck and let us know how it works out for you.
