It's been awhile since I've posted here, so I thought I'd write about my new nasal snuff acquisitions. I've also changed my snuffing method from bullets to using the side of my hand. I found pinching to be too messy.

Sorry if the descriptions are lacking, but I'm not good with picking up the details in snuff. Some of them I don't use as often, too, so I need to give them more time.Toque Coke - Flavour is like those coke flavoured candy tarts. Not long-lasting, though.
  • Toque Pomegranate - I guess this smells like them. Nothing mind-blowing though.
  • Toque Peach - Same as above.
  • Toque Rasbperry - Same as above.
  • Toque Blueberry - Stronger flavour than the other fruity ones. Not bad.
  • Toque Berwick Brown - Now this has character. A soapy kind of flavour, like putting saddle soap up the nose. I will buy more of this for sure.
  • Toque Espresso - I bought this because someone said it had the flavour of a cigar wrapper. I don't really get that. Not a favourite, though I'm not a coffee drinker.
  • Spanish Gem - Another character flavour. Leaves a nice refreshing, cool sweet scent in the nose.
  • Dholakia Black Snuff - Like sniffing silk up your nose. Very easy to take. A dark plain tobacco with an earthy, barn-yard (!) flavour to it. High nic.
  • Dholakia Sparrow Cool - A mentholated snuff (thought I should try some.) Have to be careful snuffing this one as it makes me cough. Don't really like it - yet.
  • QWS Smoker's Blend - Made by Dholakia. Much the same as Black, but not as earthy, more of a chocolate flavour. High nic.
  • W.E. Garrett Scotch - I bought this because people said if you could handle it then you've mastered the art of snuffing. This stuff is very fine so must be used carefully, I cough pretty much every time I use it. Burns, too. It's a very nice plain tobacco flavour with high nic.
  • 5 Photo Himalaya - I highlighted this to draw your attention to it. This is truly the snuff of the gods, I tell you! Made in India, easy to use, smells like you're in a sacred temple full of pleasing incense and perfumes. So cooling in your nose (menthol, but not overpowering.) If I had to choose a desert snuff, this would be one of my top choices, the second being Latakia Ao 1860.
  • Sun Pari - "Royal India Heritage" Very similar to 5 Photo. Superb. I really want to try more of these exotic Indian snuffs.
  • Pöschl Ozona President - I love the shiny dispenser this comes on and the easy flip opening allowing you to tap the snuff onto your hand. Has the scent of menthol and eucalyptus with a tobacco undertone. I really enjoy this. Easy to take.
  • Pöschl Ozona Raspberry - Much like the above but fruity, and I don't notice the tobacco. The round dispenser opening makes it awkward tapping the snuff out.
  • Pöschl Gawith Apricot - Same as above, but in a proper dispenser like the President. All three snuffs are excellent quality and very enjoyable.
I have enough snuff to last me a long, long time. But, as always, there are so many flavours to discover that I will, undoubtedly, splurge on another order. Thankfully, snuff is affordable. :)

    Somewhere between here and there
BlueSun. Thank you for the reviews. Snuff doesn't get mentioned here that much any more since OTD left. I have tried several of the ones you mention but have not tried some. I remember that Dgriego used to brag alot about the 5 Photo snuffs. I've never been big on the florals/ perfume scents. I thought I might mention too that I seem to pick up on a black licorice scent on the ozona president. Might just be me. As far as the toques go, I like the raspberry menthol and the st. clements isn't bad. I was sadly disappointed with the expresso. I haven't ordered anything new in a few months but like you have enough snuff to last almost forever. I have been wanting to try the hedges L260. I have been told that it is a pretty intense menthol.

I guess people are more focused on snus these days. Nasal snuff, though messier, is so much cheaper.

Now that you mention it, I can notice a black licorice scent in President if I focus, but it could be all in my head. I'm not very good at picking up the subtleties in snuff like some reviewers are.

I'm not blown away by most of the Toque snuff I've tried. I know they pride themselves on simplicity, and I appreciate that, but hope they will come out with some different types (edit: I should say grinds) in the future. Gotta love the free shipping!

I never thought I'd be big into the perfume/flowery flavours either till I tried 5 Photo Himalaya. Now I can't get enough when it's in rotation.

Oh, I also like Toque Lavender, a very calm and peaceful scent, so I'll have to try their other florals on my next order. I thought I'd never like menthol either. I love it in the Ozona, but not in the Dholakia Sparrow.

BTW, to anybody reading, send a message to Pöschl on their web site and ask for free samples. Mine arrived in two weeks from Germany. They've certainly made a customer out of me. :)

If you like floral scents, I wanna recomment Fribourg & Treyer (F&T) Morocco! It's a med/fine grind with medium moisture and almost SP base- I wanna say it's a FLORAL SP if there is such a thing. I got some for my GF (yeah, my woman snuffs ha ha) and I ended up doing half of it!

Lovely snuff and very moreish ha ha
