How could anyone ever know that making the choice to try ecigs was going to offer so many choices and possibilities? It truly is a little bit overwhelming. I think it's because not only are you making a choice to purchase something, you are also in the midst of making what is probably one of the most life changing decisions that you have ever made. Most have probably tried the patch, pills, cold turkey etc. For me this is it. I won't do the patch nor pills and I can already tell you that cold turkey is definitely out. This decision could change the entire quality of my life and quite possibly save it from what's down the road if I continue on. No wonder this is so overwhelming. So, I am just offering to you as a newbie (which I am too) what I ended up with in a summary.
1. No one ecig is going to work for everyone. You may be overwhelmed by the choices but accept the fact that the first one you buy may not be, and probably will not be, the one that you end up with. That's ok, it doesn't mean that ecigs will not work. Read the forums and the suggestions. I can tell you that after spending a lot of time on here I found that the ecig that I seemed to see mentioned the most was the 510. Also, if a person didn't go with the 510 or started with the 510 and changed they stated why. It seemed battery life was one of the bigger problems. Not a problem really, I made sure to get a PCC and extra batteries. We'll see how that fares once I get it and it's on it's way.
2. The overwhelming information on ejuice and how much you need. Again, what makes this so hard is that everyone is different and the way that you absorb the nic through an ecig is going to be different than an analog. First of all, you need to check out the library. One important point I learned is that when I try the ecig for the first time that when I take that first hit I should not expect the same feeling as when I take a hit from an analogue. Thankfully that info is in there. It would have really sucked if I just kept sitting there hitting on the thing because it didn't seem to be doing anything for me and 2 minutes later to be in the bathroom throwing up. You have to hit and give it a bit. In regards to ejuice here's what I came up with. I have ordered bottles with the mgs of 0, 6, 12, 18, and the 24 comes with my kit. My plan is to begin with 6. I'm going to follow the instructions and see where that leads me. If I am still madly craving an analog I will move to the 12. If that doesn't do it on to the 18 etc etc. I may find that the 18 is too strong so then I'll mix the 12 and 18 and see what happens. I have visions of a mad scientist in a laboratory lol. By doing this I think that I will then be able to find out what works for me without making the mistake of going too high. The 0 is because through reading I have found that most people who start vaping really enjoy it and sometimes end up vaping more than they used analogs. Good deal but I think that most of us are here to reduce the tar and crap that we get from analogs but also not to increase the amount of nicotine that we use. So the 0 for me is the alternate plan if I find that I fall into that category. Using the nic when I need it and alternating with the 0 when I just feel like vaping.
I will tell you one thing, I have been to forums in search of information when I was doing other things like buying pool stuff, cars, etc. just to get info. I have NEVER become part of a forum with people who are so nice, so helpful, and so willing to give you whatever information you need to assist you in making this decision. It's clear too that when people respond to your posts they are excited for you, they are genuinely happy that you have made the decision that you have and are eager to be there for you in this transition. You should check out the posts where members talk about their experiences. Some have brought me to tears and all are very inspiring. If you ever needed a support system online this is it. Like I said, I am a newbie but even though I haven't had a chance to discuss with everyone here I already truly feel like I am part of one big happy family. A family that revels in the fact that they made a huge decision to change their lives for the better and are ecstatic that you are doing the same.
You need look no further than this place for all of your questions and concerns.
I feel very fortunate to have found it and you will too.
