Leaking or not enough juice flow? I have solutions for both issues.
Currently? I have some slow leakage and gurgling.

Currently running a .7ish 28g single micro coil(4/5 wrap, 2mm ID). Wicked to just above the juice channels, and made sure they were open.

I couldn't get a decent hit with my go to squonk coil (OL-16, 2.5mm 1ohm 28g kanthal) in the lemo.

That looks like the tanks Volt sold.

Well, it kinda is. It's an Aspire Mini Vivi Nova. But Aspire (Eigate) made the Volt (Smokeless Image) tanks. Same tanks, only difference is that what is normally a 510 tank they added an ego threaded skirt to it and the coil head had a shorter positive pin for use on the Volt 808 eGo batteries. A regular pin made for 510 egos would bottom-out on the batteries positive pin before you could screw the tank down. I saved those short pins becuase I still have some 808 egos that work.

Hell. I don't even own anything that is made anymore!

The mod I'm using this morning (Mako) was made in 2010, and the tank (J-Tank) in 2011.
They were a great vape back then ... and still are.

I remembered the name J-Tank TJ but didn't remember anything about it so I Googled it. Came up with all kinds of things including a WW2 tank, but nothing vape related. Then I hit this on the Guide to Vaping's best of 2011 page and it got an honorable mention in the Best Tank System category. It was kinda scary that the Lava Tube came in first in their Best New Mod category :?: . Still, quite a walk down memory lane :)

A good deal of mine is too.

I've still even got some "Isaacs" stashed away, ready to jump in at any point. :D:wub:

You know, Butch, I'm actually sorry that I didn't hang onto a couple. The memories are etched in stone, but I guess I had no idea where this little experiment would take me.

If I could turn back a clock, I'd still have just a few V2 things hanging around. Live and learn, eh?

But you can get 52 LTs for the price of just one Provari!;)

Interesting and good to hear that others are making use of their older stuff...

I don't know about the rest of you, but for myself after experimenting/playing/trying different setups early on I found ones that worked for me and tended to simply stick with what I knew worked for me.

While the ~5yo setups I used as examples at the start of this thread are not really THAT old, considering the seemingly constant stream of new mods and atomizers that flood the vaping industry they can't be considered all that new ether.

Thankfully (if taken care of) lots of vaping gear can last a fairly long time. (it makes me wonder about the usefullness of my stash of mods and atomizers...)

I figure that if they outlast me, I've won.

If I outlast them, on the other hand, that might not turn out so well. :|

I'm very doubtful I will ever go through all my stash given the longevity of the gear I've used so far these past coming up on 10 years. I do have gear that is that old. I'm glad I do have a stash though piece of mind and the ability to pay it forward to some to non-stashers.

    Greetings,

maybe I was bored. Maybe to much doom and gloom on all the bans of new gear and the shipping of it. I started to think - why not have some fun with some of the stuff I already have?

Another negative is that while it is top fill, there is no juice flow control so the atomizer get flooded each time the tank is refilled. While I could (and have) used it in a pinch, I can get 1-2 tank fills on a single 3000mah battery.

Like others have already stated, that is a Kayfun V4. It's an awesome tank, way too many parts, but still a great vape. After the juice tax dropped here in Nova Scotia ($0.50 per ml) I dug mine out of storage and retired all the cloud gear.
    KFv4.jpg

If the airflow is too restrictive then there is a air tube with a large bore, It's called the 4S-Kit and opens up the KFv4 considerably. They are hard to find these days so you could just take out the Air Regulation Screw (#13) from your stock Center post (#14).

If you don't have the KFv4 diagram then it is a must have to familiarize yourself with all the moving parts.
    Kayfun V4 Diagram.jpg

The Kayfun V4 has a spring (#12) to maintain conductivity when the juice flow control (#5) is fully open, this can be the weak link for ohm fluctuations and improper readings. The tank should always be run with the JFC wide open, that way the spring is fully compressed and gives the best conductivity.

If the base (#3) and JFC ring (#5) are hard to independently turn, then large slot screw (#9) might be too tight, it should only be snug and not cranked down.

Before filling by removing the top nut (#38) always spin the JCF ring counter clockwise to close it off completely then remove the nut.

The JFC ring is attached to the Evaporation Chamber (#28) and I make sure those are very tight, that way you can use the whole tank to spin the JFC instead of trying to get your fingers on the ring. Make sure the Counter Nut (#33) is tight as well to keep the top tank section from coming loose.

Looks overwhelming but it's actually quite simple. ;) :vapor:

After that.... I will figure out my KFL+v2's. I could never trap my coil legs around those tiny screws...
    The "TD Scratch" :D

I did this to all my KFL decks, solved the trapping problem. ;)

The corner of a small file and a few minutes is all you need.

Same here. While I doubt that I'll ever use all my stash I have some "starter gear" ear marked for some old friends of mine that are still smoking. Sadly, over the years I've only been able to help one friend get off smoking. :(

While I have dozens of v5 clones (and 1/2 dozen 5squared authentics) I only have one v4.

The v5's are much less complicated and many of the clones are easier to build on (besides having better air flow). I picked up a bunch for <$15ea at some point.

I usually have two v5's in service all the time (one bedroom night stand, the other next to TV watching location).

Sadly I killed two v5squared's last year. One fell ~4' to a hardwood floor and broke off the 510. The other got damaged beyond repair/use when cleaning. Expensive mistakes. :(
