You damaged a kayfun just by cleaning it?

It involved some not so gently knocking of a mod+tank-base against a desktop to knock loose some crusty crud on/around the coil. (not a recommended method!)

Usually the mod is larger than the tank, however in this case the 5squared overhanged the mod considerably.

While I have dozens of v5 clones (and 1/2 dozen 5squared authentics) I only have one v4.

The v5's are much less complicated and many of the clones are easier to build on (besides having better air flow). I picked up a bunch for <$15ea at some point.

I usually have two v5's in service all the time (one bedroom night stand, the other next to TV watching location).

Sadly I killed two v5squared's last year. One fell ~4' to a hardwood floor and broke off the 510. The other got damaged beyond repair/use when cleaning. Expensive mistakes. :(

After the V4 I moved onto other things and never bothered with the V5s. I might have to look into finding one if this V4 ever packs in.

I really like the v5's. I have a bunch of clones I got from Fasttech (no longer carry the clones) that are easy to build on and when opened up to the maximum air flow setting fit my vaping style well. Another brand of clones I got from another website don't have quite the same amount of air flow as the ones I got from FT but are very usable.

https://www.vapeyaya.com/index.php?_route_=sxk-kayfun-v5-rta-style-tank At $18.99 each I have a bunch of them for spare parts or as part of kits for my still smoking friends. :)

I ended up buying a handful of 25mm authentic's as they fit/look great on my 25mm Dicodes tube mods. (besides, I could not find a 25mm clone)

I've still even got some "Isaacs" stashed away, ready to jump in at any point. :D:wub:

You know, Butch, I'm actually sorry that I didn't hang onto a couple. The memories are etched in stone, but I guess I had no idea where this little experiment would take me.

If I could turn back a clock, I'd still have just a few V2 things hanging around. Live and learn, eh?

    :toast:

But you can get 52 LTs for the price of just one Provari!;)

I still have all of mine ..........however it is in a plastic storage tub in a backyard shed.........doubt the batteries will take a charge.

Have you successfully ordered from them recently?

I tried ordering that SXK KF5 from Vapeyaya a couple months ago. 3 weeks later they never shipped and wouldn't answer my emails. So I waited a full 4 weeks and then had to do a paypal dispute. They never even responded to the dispute so I automatically got my money back.

My last order from them was likely +6mo ago. They were not a issue back then, sorry to hear that they are now. Thankfully there are other vendors that carry the SXK KF5 to order from if that is what you'd like.

Like others have already stated, that is a Kayfun V4. It's an awesome tank, way too many parts, but still a great vape. After the juice tax dropped here in Nova Scotia ($0.50 per ml) I dug mine out of storage and retired all the cloud gear.

If the airflow is too restrictive then there is a air tube with a large bore, It's called the 4S-Kit and opens up the KFv4 considerably. They are hard to find these days so you could just take out the Air Regulation Screw (#13) from your stock Center post (#14).

If you don't have the KFv4 diagram then it is a must have to familiarize yourself with all the moving parts.

The Kayfun V4 has a spring (#12) to maintain conductivity when the juice flow control (#5) is fully open, this can be the weak link for ohm fluctuations and improper readings. The tank should always be run with the JFC wide open, that way the spring is fully compressed and gives the best conductivity.

If the base (#3) and JFC ring (#5) are hard to independently turn, then large slot screw (#9) might be too tight, it should only be snug and not cranked down.

Before filling by removing the top nut (#38) always spin the JCF ring counter clockwise to close it off completely then remove the nut.

The JFC ring is attached to the Evaporation Chamber (#28) and I make sure those are very tight, that way you can use the whole tank to spin the JFC instead of trying to get your fingers on the ring. Make sure the Counter Nut (#33) is tight as well to keep the top tank section from coming loose.

Looks overwhelming but it's actually quite simple. ;) :vapor:

Wow, TD! Thank you for that great walk through of the KF V4. I bought a couple of them back in 2015 for my vapocalypse stash. But after seeing how many parts they had, I didn't even bother to try one. I was afraid to just take it apart to give it a soap bath, thinking I'd never be able to get it back together again. Just for fun, I'll have to pull it out and give it a go.

That's terrible that you had to retire so much good gear because of a stupid vape tax. You need to get into DIY. It's SO much cheaper.

Oh I know where to get KF5s but not SXK version. I may try vapeyaya again at some point to see what happens.

I got the SXK 5 Squared SE from FT last December. Mine came in a cloned SvoeMesto box too (Identical to authentic - felt a bit weird)

$14.95 SXK KF 5² Square SE Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 7ml (25*22.5mm(OD*ID)) / 316 stainless steel + PSU / 25mm diameter at FastTech - Free Shipping

I almost sent it back to the guy, because I thought it was authentic (I'm not a KF expert), and he threw it into a package.

That's seriously kinda creepy to me (not sure why). The cloning, I mean, not the "throw-in".

I was really surprised. So much detail - perfectly cloned 1:1 atty and the perfect copy of the fancy SVM box with outer sleeve. Like it was designed for dodgy retailers to pass off as original. Maybe SvoeMesto have their boxes made in China? For 15 bucks it almost felt wrong
