A test of my willpower

I quit smoking 2 months ago and been vaping for the last month. I know, I quit smoking so why start vaping? Because I wanted a cig so bad sometimes that I needed something to keep me from going back to analogs.

It started yesterday that my two 510s aren't working for ..... I can't get hardly any vapor at all, no taste or hit, just like air, the LEDs flash that they need to be charged within maybe 10 puffs at best. I can't even taste anything when I drip 36mg Krystal.

I cleaned one of the atomizers (I only have 2) and no improvement. I know I should be replacing the atomizers and I have 2 more on order that should be here any day. I ordered a Prodigy last night too because I was so disgusted with these. I have a PCC and I plugged one of the batteries directly into the wall charger a little while ago to see if that is the problem.

I want a smoke!!!

I totally understand where you're coming from. I also quit for a month before vaping. I started vaping because if I didn't you would have seen me outside Wal-mart with a dollar bill trying to buy a cigarette off someone. It sux that your 510's aren't working correctly. Hopefully, the battery just needs charging.

My opinions:

You don't have nearly enough atomizers. I'd make sure to have a few in rotation, and many backups just waiting for the ones you are using to die. Attys don't like to die alone, either. They seem to take others with them.

Two batteries aren't nearly enough, either. Good call on getting a battery mod. Make sure you have some extra batteries for it, too.

A good battery mod (doesn't hurt to have a backup for it, too! Switches can die.) and plenty of attys will last you a long time.


I got my parents into vaping, and their 510 batteries are already starting to die, so they both ordered Chucks. There is nothing like getting two days on a single battery charge after dealing with the crappy 510 batteries.

It does take willpower because I know I could have a smoke at any moment that I want one. I could stop at the store on the way to work and get a pack. I almost asked for one from someone that was at my house yesterday that was smoking outside. I mean I was VERY close. I saw him smoking and I went outside a few minutes later and was seriously going to ask for one. I looked at his hands, he wasn't holding a lit one and I just stopped.... and didn't say anything.

I hope this charging works for today.

Did you wipe off the battery connections? Sounds like they have juice on them.

Execellent point. I thought one of my cells had failed several days ago, it just needed a quick going over with a cotton bud...as good as new after that.

I did clean off all the treads and everything else as best I could. I screwed around with both batteries and both atomizers it seems all day yesterday!!!

Actually, one battery is doing better this morning, the one that I plugged into the wall charger. Not great, but better, and I was able to vape all the way to work. Taste and hit is still weak but not just air like before.

Just buy extra atty's and batteries. 2 out of 3 of my batteries still work since I started in June.

Atty's on the other hand can go at any time- allways have extras.

The 510 was a good start, but I wasn't truly satisfied unill I moved up to 5 Volts.
IMO 3.7 is too low and 6 is too high, 5 volts is the perfect sweet spot.

Make sure you're not getting the atty too hot by vaping one puff after the other. I carry both 510's and rotate them so I don't burn out an atty. Which is why I ordered a Super-T with the added benefit of its safety features. I do believe the batteries will last significantly longer. Still, I'll probably carry a little 510 in my pocket just to give the Super-T a break now and then.

Hang in there and don't throw away any atty's. I had a 901 that didn't work for more than a week. I tried everything and had come to the conclusion that it was dead....when it magically started working again and producing wonderful vapor. Evidently it just needed a long rest. (I didn't 'soak' it or do anything unusual to make it come to life again, it just did)

Same here I am running on thin ice while waiting on some mod parts I ordered last week. My 510 batteries are dying very quickly, during the day they are just barely keeping up while in rotation on the charger. I got enough parts on the way to build 4 nico sticks and
a half dozen batteries for them, I am sure that will solve the battery issues.

I'm thinking about a passthrough. I have been rotating my two batts in the wall charger here at work and it's been so-so. Still not a lot of vapor or taste but every once in awhile I do get a good hit.

Driving me crazy though.
