Hi, I'm interested in making my own coil for the vivi nova. The way the head is designed, you have the heating element coiling around the wick and then connecting to the positive and negative terminals at the bottom of the head, separated by a silicone/rubber like insulating cap.
The heating element seem to be touching the rubber insulator cap, so how come it doesn't melt it? I understand that silicone can withstand heat well, but I don't think it can withstand direct contact with a heating element wire.
But then again, maybe the heating element is not hot in that section? Every time I do a dry burn, it seems only the coil section glow, the part of the heating element that goes down to the terminals doesn't seem to glow (can't see it that well).
Just curious, please advise, thanks
