A very ...... Vapers Rant

I'm sure you realize that the rule is not going to change, right?

I'm sure you realize things won't change unless people voice concern and bring up valid points? I've convinced much larger forums to change much more controversial things than this, and seen it happen on many times more. Look at how some people are bypassing this silly rule, like Jarhead earlier just saying look here's my 2nd 3rd and 4th with no content and now he has access. What have you prevented? The 5 post limit is a deterrent to everyone equally.

EDIT: I realize the irony in my ranting about this got me my posts. But what was really gained? Someone else walked off as well that could arguably have been defined as a spammer. I could have had my question answered by now and been much happier for it.

It's fine, I expected as much with the tone of my first message if people didn't stop to think and see whether what I brought up made sense or not or just said this guy sounds like he's an ... based on his tone so I'll disregard everything else in it. I'm saying whoever made that rule made a bad one as far as I'm concerned. You don't attract users with signup restrictions from the get go. I totally understand restricting access to the classifieds thread to build a reputation, that's perfectly legitimate. But requiring this doesn't prove anything.

Case in point. Spammer averted? Really guys?

No, this technology isn't new, the application is, arguably. Again these are the same components found in a variable intensity flashlight from the reading I've done, and those flashlights are hundreds of times more durable. Why? As for the idea of value vs cigarettes yes you're right, but that isn't the only way to look at it. Just because you're saving money on cigarettes doesn't mean that (if what I've figured out so far is right) it's ok for ecig makers to charge absurd markups. For that matter, what the hell is this idea of stainless steel finishes? We're going to make a (fairly heavy) stainless steel tube that people carry around all the time, there's going to be no issues with grip, right?

Smaller production runs I've already taken into consideration, and even with that, the prices are still insanely high. It's nothing more than a cnc machine, and assembly. People like Dwood of overclock.net charge 10-50 bucks for custom aluminium brackets using a cnc cutter depending on how complicated what you want is. That covers the idea of the casing being worth over 100 bucks. Some being made in the US does justify a portion of it, but still not all.

Paying for quality doesn't mean paying a lot. Nokia 3310 is a case in point. It was cheap at it's time, and is still among the highest quality/most durable phones in the world.

Since most people have so many questions that they're just going to ask in the kiddie pool and have answered anyway, what is the point of this? You've already got spammers like jarhead earlier that just take advantage of it and get in anyway, and you're not limiting new members to only introduces themselves and getting the information you want, so what are you doing?

Seriously guys...and this is not an issue when you're trying to prevent spammers? lmao.

You pay more for a ferrari for about a billion reasons (you just brought this up to an auto guy lol). Horsepower, build quality, exclusiveness, prestige, and the joy of using it. Yes you could make the argument that that's why you buy a provari, but unlike the provari or nice mech mod, but there's a difference in pricing gap. Take for example the audi brand (not vw group), it's a luxury automaker (and does include lamborghini), yet there margins are only around 12% as at 2011 (Volkswagen Group - Annual Report 2011 - Audi). My point is these vapes have seemingly got very high double digit margins, and you're saying you're paying for quality.

This would have made 13 and we could be doing backflips right now.

If i didnt have a rushed all nighter to grind out tonight id be bashing so much in this thread right now.

Im just gonna leave the OP with this: unless its national security stuff, if you dont find some information on the internet, you are doing it wrong. Tens of thousands of people are happy with their PVs, and im sure not all of them are millionaire; if you think you are paying too much, you are most likely missing out on cheaper (equal quality) stuff.

How do i know that? I researched, instead of ranting. Thats why i own cheap, quality stuff and am satisfied. People need to complain less and work more.

as far as his problems with this forum, I think that's the same problem most have who are just getting started... there is SO much information that sorting through it is difficult.... imagine if you didn't know what all the acronyms were or what any of the terms meant, and all you wanted to do was make sure you got a good device / system to start with, there's probably over a billion different combinations of batteries/mods + tanks/carts/clearos/attys + juice that anyone could recommend is the "best" and none of them would be wrong (for that person)...

as far as his rant about how most of these systems are overpriced flashlights... I honestly don't disagree. pretty much every bit of technology in any APV or mod has been around for decades in flashlights... but that's not a complete picture. Most of this stuff has diverged just enough from flashlights that it doesn't gain the benefits of mass production and import that flashlights have also had for decades, this is why these things cost 2-5x as much as a flashlight with the same basic technology.

btw, I've actually watched some videos on how to convert a flashlight into a mod :p
