So I'm sitting here vaping some Ms. T's juices and I just shed a tear. I feel compelled to share something with my Ms. T brothers & sisters. Every once in a while during life, something profound hits you hard and heavy. You see, I've been listening to what I consider to be one of the most beautiful voices in the world. And it belongs to a woman that 99% of the population has never heard. Even worse, she never got a chance to share herself with the world as she never reached notoriety. She died at the early age of 33 due to cancer. Record executives backed away from her because she refused to sing only one type of music. She loved blues, jazz, folk, gospel, and country. Unfortunately, she was a very shy person who didn't enjoy the spotlight, which in turn, didn't help her career. There is only one known complete piece of video footage of her singing live ('live at blues alley') which was recorded into a live CD. Several other studio CD's were pieced together after her death from various recording footage.
Anyhow, I was turned onto this artist about 10 years ago and I have 3 or 4 of her CD's. I thought I would share a few classics from Eva Cassidy for your easy listening & vaping pleasure. If she moves you, like she moves a lot of us, maybe you'll find something special in her work.
This first tune is one everyone will recognize. It's an amazing rendition of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'. The 4:00 mark gives me chills everytime
I grew up listening to classic rock and hard rock, but Eva Cassidy's tone & melody will always hold a special place in my soul.
RIP
