So I'm sitting here vaping some Ms. T's juices and I just shed a tear. I feel compelled to share something with my Ms. T brothers & sisters. Every once in a while during life, something profound hits you hard and heavy. You see, I've been listening to what I consider to be one of the most beautiful voices in the world. And it belongs to a woman that 99% of the population has never heard. Even worse, she never got a chance to share herself with the world as she never reached notoriety. She died at the early age of 33 due to cancer. Record executives backed away from her because she refused to sing only one type of music. She loved blues, jazz, folk, gospel, and country. Unfortunately, she was a very shy person who didn't enjoy the spotlight, which in turn, didn't help her career. There is only one known complete piece of video footage of her singing live ('live at blues alley') which was recorded into a live CD. Several other studio CD's were pieced together after her death from various recording footage.

Anyhow, I was turned onto this artist about 10 years ago and I have 3 or 4 of her CD's. I thought I would share a few classics from Eva Cassidy for your easy listening & vaping pleasure. If she moves you, like she moves a lot of us, maybe you'll find something special in her work.

This first tune is one everyone will recognize. It's an amazing rendition of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'. The 4:00 mark gives me chills everytime

I grew up listening to classic rock and hard rock, but Eva Cassidy's tone & melody will always hold a special place in my soul.

RIP

This next song ('What a Wonderful World') is the last song Eva ever performed live. You see, just before cancer took her away, an event was held by her friends and family to say goodbye. At the end of the party several people helped her onto the stage (she was very frail). Her farewell song was 'What a Wonderful World'. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. She died a few months later. This version is on her cd 'Live at Blues Alley'.

This last tune is called 'Songbird'. It's a remake of an old Fleetwood Mac song. If I had known of this song by Eva when I got married it would have been our wedding song.

I know this is Ms. T's forum, and these posts really don't fit in with e-juice discussions, but I wanted to share a special person with you all. If this somehow is inappropriate, please delete.

Beautiful. I'm a big believer in the power of music. I want to share something real quick. When I was 10 yrs old I had a dream about my grandmother. She was telling me she was dying. In the background of my dream was a song called "Take My Breath Away". Beautiful song. A few months later she past away. She raised me from birth when my mother walked out on my dad and I. Nobody told me she had cancer and was slipping away so my grandmother told me in my sleep that she was leaving. In my darkest moments in life that song suddenly plays on the radio. It makes me smile.... and cry.

I have a story similar to that a few years back . One night me and my brother decided to go see my dad because we havent heard fom him in a few days.Nothing totally abnormal but we just had a strange off feeling. We were in the car heading to his house and the song Freebird came on the radio . It was the strangest thing ever in my life . The song just felt like it lasted forever.I swaer it did. Me and my brother really noticed it and got a bad feeling about it .It was almost eerie.Just happened to be one of my dads favorite songs too. We got to his house and found him passed away in bed. It was truely like that song was a sign and meant for us.It was almost paranormal. It actually helped us deal with it in a way.
